The Great Southern Hotel is located in Haymarket, with plenty of restaurants nearby. Most of those restaurants serve Thai or Chinese food. The hotel serves excellent food in its dining room and in the bar. LIght-rail transit is located just in front of the hotel, so a trip to Circular Quay is just a quick 10 minute ride. Transit is clean and safe. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful with any requests. We will stay there again on our next visit to Sydney.

Great location

Brilliant location which provided way walking for access to all visitor attractions. The food was very good and staff very helpful. The room was a little tired and could benefit from a refresh. Our last nights stay was disrupted badly from 3 rowdy guests in the next room, we had an early start for the airport with very little sleep. Overall it did not spoil our trip to Sydney

This is the perfect place to be when flying in and taking a train to your destination. The staff is welcoming, the rooms efficient and clean, and it's in a walkable area to food & the tourist attractions. We have stayed here before and will again.

On the whole a great location, beautiful and clean and lovely cheap brekkie - rooms a little small for long legged teenager - and a little tricky to navigate the space - but it would be ideal for one person. IT was a perfect option for us and we did enjoy our stay thank you.
