Received a text from Howard Johnson for pre-check. Completed it including copy of drivers license and credit card information. Hotel doesn’t have access to that information so had to do everything again. One reason I selected this motel was for the bathtub. Ask for a room on 1st floor. Found out room didn’t have tub. They gave us a room on 2nd floor but housekeeping hadn’t finished cleaning it. We had already carried all our luggage up so we waited. Later I went in to take bath and found the tub didn’t have any way to keep the water in so useless for a bath. The hotel and furnishings are very dated.

This motel is a budget motel and as such is great. It was old, but on Rt 66 so that is expected. The rooms were nice though. Large & clean. It had everything we needed. The staff seemed nice as well. My only complaint was the road noise on Route 66 Bring earplugs.

This is a unique renovated Route 66 property. It is very well done and a very friendly staff. The updates may not be consistent with the 50s and 60s., But overall, it is a very well done renovation.

I was very impressed with how nicely renovated all the rooms are. The bed was comfortable and everything was in good shape. I especially appreciated them having two EV chargers. I'm not sure I'd bother doing their advanced online check-in though - they ended up asking me for almost everything when I checked in that I'd already done online so it seemed like a waste of time.

A charming and pleasant visit

The front desk staff were kind, friendly, and professional. They answered questions and were very helpful. This was our first time in Albuquerque and thought the decor and atmosphere of the hotel was charming.

Not in the best of neighborhoods.

This is a motel, not a hotel. The neighborhood is a little sketchy. Fast food restaurants were available however not sit down and dine type of restaurants were not nearby.

Choose a different hotel

I personally wouldn’t stay here again. It does not feel like a safe area. The street in front of the hotel (motel?) had cars revving their engines and screeching down the street all night, backfires sounding like gunshots. The front desk check in was locked and I had to ring a doorbell to ask for extra towels. They didn’t have any and had to go find some. Just wasn’t a great experience and was ready to leave first thing in the morning.

Comfortable bed. Great water pressure. Tub/shower stall in very poor condition. I would not use shower without wearing flip flops or shower shoes. Overhead light in vanity area missing glass cover over light bulbs and extremely dusty. Ongoing construction on property and street noise very loud. Female front desk attendant was the highlight as she expertly managed anangry hostile customer before us and was very professional.
