Pictures and reviews deceiving

I booked this hotel from the 8.6 review on hotels.com and the pictures on the listing but when I got to the hotel it was dark and dingy and clearly the pictures were of another hotel exterior. It honestly looked and smelled like a nursing home. The elevator was clunky and another guest commented that it scared them. The hallway upstairs was stinky and musty and look like it belonged in a Stephen King novel. Doors to rooms had signs on them saying they were out of order and there was trim from the walls laying on the floor. Our room did not have its room number on the door, it must have fallen off at some point. Inside the room was musty and in the bathroom there was paint peeling off the wall and stains in the tub. That is when we decided to abandon the hotel and take the $170 loss and stay at the Tru by Hilton across the highway. I would never recommend this Best Western Plus to anyone.

Nice friendly hotel. We walked next door to The Outback and found the staff friendly too and the food great. They make a full bodied delicious potato soup. Good stay while travelling on the highway.

This was a one night stay on way to a vacation destination. Best Western use to be our go to stay, but now I am steering away from them. The consistency of the brand r are varied and the BW Plus feels like a regular BW. But cost more! This stay helped me remember why I do not book BW anymore. The bed and pillows felt lumpy and the shower had black mold growing on the caulk. I feel like the quality has really gone down in the last few years.
