The staff were great. They helped us find a parking spot, told us how to get around, mixed some great Negronis for our night cap, fabulous breakfast and an explained how to navigate out of this beautiful town. The room and bed made for a much needed rest on our road trip through Portugal.

Perfect hotel

Staff so friendly and welcoming. Clean rooms, beautiful design of bar/lobby/restaurant as well as rooms. Breakfast buffet had many choices and was delicious food. The hotel is located immediately below the historic university buildings. Our room had a spacious balcony on a quiet courtyard (autumn). The rooftop patio offers beautiful views of the city. Staff provided a free drink upon arrival, a free glass of wine at 6pm, and brought chocolate and a bedtime story to the room in the evening. This is our favorite hotel in Portugal, improved only if they would provide a kettle or coffeemaker in the room.

Booked the Junior suite as a treat for us and loved the experience. Ended up having dinner in the courtyard after visiting the university of Columbia all afternoon. The hotel is a Very short 7 minute walk from the campus surprisingly easy after a long day going up hills. Hotel staff was vey helpful. We wanted to put a load of laundry and found we could go out the back door down the staircase and be at a self service laundry in 3 minutes (it does require walking down and up hill). Altogether a great stay.

Good location

It was ok, but hotel room had some issues and was a bit lacking for the price point and star rating. Rooms have nice and creative decorations but furniture was so so. Location and views were top notch, breakfast so so.
