The staff member who eventually helped us was very friendly, polite and genuinely helpful, but only after another guy left us there for some time. Once we were assigned a room we headed up, only to find upon keying into our room (at 11:30PM) there were people already in there! Shocked, we ran back out and downstairs (myself, husband and 9/12 year olds). The staff apologized and had to call manager, informing us the hotel was sold out (though reservations were made weeks ago). We were told the only room available was a king with a pull out bed, now almost midnight and having driven 4.5 hours, we really had no other option to accept the too small for our family room. Breakfast was fine and the same polite staff greeted us in the morning. Upon checkout we crossed paths with the family we intruded upon in the middle of the night. Awkward. Based on other conversations, even with our own family arriving earlier, there were instances of being assigned dirty rooms. Hoping for them this was a one off weekend, but it started our faction off in a strange way for sure!

Check-in was easy and staff was very friendly. Must have been short on staff though. The group we were with had to wait 10 mins for the maid to "quickly" clean their room. Located in a good location close to Caseys and other restaurants. Kids loved the pool even though the water was freezing. Would have liked the room to be cleaner. Had a weird smell and the bathtub looked like bleach has never been used on it. Luckily we only had to stay 1 night. Probably won't be staying here again. You get what you pay for.

Everything was pretty good, minor furniture pieces worn and refrigerator did not work so food we placed in it could not be eaten the next day.

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. It was one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. I always do my research and read reviews before I go and somehow this hotel has gotten many good reviews. We stayed Friday, February 28. After a long drive and a long day, I brought my three kids to this hotel to sleep for the night so we could have a break before driving to our final destination. We arrived around 10 PM and check-in went smooth. When we got up to our room, the room smelled absolutely horrible, and there was trash on the floor. Anytime you sat on the toilet it would move, like it wasn’t bolted securely to the floor. The beds seemed mostly clean (minus a hair found on the pillow) so we just went to be and left as quickly as we could in the morning. We took a shower before we left, which was just as gross and wouldn’t drain. In retrospect, we should have asked for another room, however, we were exhausted and had already unloaded. The fact that they were willing to even say this room was acceptable to serve to guests is an absolute disservice. I called and talked to the manager who basically said, “that’s too bad”. I don’t consider myself a fancy person at all and I can tolerate a lot, but this was just so disgusting and I felt like a terrible mom for even allowing my kids to sleep there. It’s incredibly sad to me too that the business wouldn’t even make it right. The pictures are incredibly deceiving. DO NOT BOOK.

Front desk absence

This is a great hotel, and the service is normally great. This time, when I got to the front desk, no one was there, which wasn't a big deal. But after 2 our 3 minutes, I rang the bell, and still waited another minute for someone to show up. Then when I checked out the next morning, again, there was no one at the desk.

I had to cancel room for refund, because they would not allow my brother in without a credit card. He doesn't own one. I offered for him to use mine as a deposit, but they would not allow that either. I had to cancel and call a reservations desk to find a hotel that would allow him to stay without having a credit card on him if I paid for it. I did find one at Comfort Inn and suites. I am just waiting for my refund on this room

Great check in, great hotel.

Very convenient, close to interstate 80 and close to Iowa Hawkeye sports venues. Great breakfast menu. The check in clerk (Mr. D. Ware) was friendly, professional and knowledgeably answered all my questions. He said he was fairly new, but he showed pride and concern for the customer, and I was very pleased.

I loved the breakfast area...the coffee was amazing.The outside of the hotel didn't look like it was going to be a nice place to stay...but it was.I appreciate the affordability.I have to really point out how great the staff at the front desk was when we arrived and the next morning.They both were Soo kind and friendly and expressed their thanks for our business.I was very impressed by our stay.
