Hotel was very nice, but did give off kind of an eerie feeling at times with how much space is not currently in use. Property is beginning to show signs of aging, but that’s to be expected. Nicest hotel available in the Decatur, IL area. The AC unit in the room could use some work though.

Needs some serious updating in the rooms! Bathrooms need some deep cleaning. Black gunk in the sink drains, shower pressure poor. Rooms located on interior walls by active hallways at 1 am so a good restful night did NOT happen. Special events(music) happening in one part of the facility should not be so loud that it is heard at the complete opposite side of the conference center. Overall, I saw other bad reviews but thought it couldn’t be THAT bad so I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and give it a chance. Sorry I did.

My sister & i stayed there after our Bret Michaels concert @ the Devon Lakeshore and we were very pleased with the staff, cleanliness & breakfast. Everyone was very pleasant & helpful especially the lady who made breakfast the morning of our check out on may 23rd. We will definitely be going back for concerts (esp in june)

This property was once the top of the line. It is pretty dated now and needs some tlc but is still very obvious how beautiful it once was. It is still a very nice place to stay and I will stay there again.

I do not agree with the bad reviews. This place has so much soul. Love all the old natural original woodwork throughout the building . Rooms were perfectly clean and front desk agents were amazing. Especially when I locked myself out of my room in my nightgown lol 😳I give this place two thumbs up. Only con was rooms were a little dark.

Charming, Decent Place to Stay

The hotel seems like it was very nice at one point, and it's fairly well maintained. I was looking for water after using the fitness area, and I was told I could purchase some by the front desk attendant. That was disappointing. Overall, I enjoyed staying there, and I would stay there again.
