Best bed ever

Bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. It was a warm night but the lack of temperature control and air con was disappointing. Room lovely, bathroom could do with bit of upgrade.

No Gluten free bread on the 3rd day which my partner needed for breakfast. We booked in as a couple and was put beside families with babies and children playing air hockey at 1am in an open games room which was situated on the same floor as the bedrooms. No remote control for the air con and the room was very hot during the night. So overall the 3 nights we stayed we got one good night's sleep, and that was the night we arrived. The staff was friendly enough but at times struggled with the tasks they had.

We ate dinner in the Italian restaurant next to reception. There was several minutes delay between the first 3 dishes arrivivg to the table and the final 2 arriving. The salami & mushroom pizza arrived with no mushrooms and only 4 slices of salami. Service was poor. The room was very hot with no fan or AC. Even with the windows open there was very little air flow. This was a family room for 5 people, there was a proper double bed (which was comfortable), a sofa bed ment to sleep 2 (but which could fit 1 and was very uncomfortable) and a camp bed. Breakfast was in the restaurant and in the bar. We got the bar. The food was lukewarm and some appeared to have been sitting in the buffet display for while. I am very dissatisfied with my stay considering the price I paid. I will never go back to the Clayton Liffey Valley and I will be very slow to use any other Clayton hotel or Hotels.com again. I'd seen a few reviews with complaints about staff and customer service. My experience couldn't of been further from that. Everyone we had contact with was so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the hotel and facilities. My only negative would be the fitness club/spa was for external use as a club also so it became very busy at times.

Excellent food choices around hotel great breakfast room could do with a better clean top to bottom but bed and bathroom was clean room we stayed in was very close to road so was quite noisy due to constant traffic maybe upgrade windows and add air conditioning.

Having no AC was a big issue it was 80* in our room and made it very hard to sleep! We did request fans and had three in the room and were still all sweating. The shower was hot or cold nothing in between and the shower head was leaking. Staff were wonderful- helpful and kind! Dinner was ok at the Italian place but not quite sure it was worth the cost but that’s not surprising for a hotel restaurant.

Have stayed in the Clayton Liffey valley a lot and this time the noise was really bad at night the room had no aircon so we were melted and there wasn’t a fridge like when we have had on other occasions my son is diabetic and needed this for his insulin. The bathroom was quite dirty also
