We arrived on a Thursday and found it very difficult to find reservation to any restaurant of quality near the hotel. If you are coming to this central area from Thursday to Sunday night make sure to have dinner reservations from 2PM till 10 PM! The hotel’s bar was so crowded with non staying guest, we were unable to enjoy this amenity.

This hotel is perfectly situated and well presented. However, it has only two lifts and one is broken which makes life extremely hard for Ambulant disabled people.

Excellent location next to Glasgow Central station. Very reasonable. Arrived early and signed up to IHG rewards free of charge allowing early check-in. Standard double room very spacious with huge bathroom. Come back time and time again.

This is a lovely historic hotel in the heart of Glasgow city. The reception areas and bar areas have been well looked after. The halls and corridors are looking tired. The bedroom (Premium double) was spacious and comfortable but did not have the sparkle afforded the reception. It was reasonable but would benefit some modernisation, it is a bit caught between yesteryear and the modern hotel experience. There are 2 lifts serving the hotel 1 was fully out of order and the 2nd was erratic in which floor it visited, it was pot luck whether the lift would arrive so we ended up walking up and down the 4 long flights of stairs to and from our room (as seemed most visitors were doing too). I have given average overall as it was ok, but would not rush to visit again.

"Not so Grand" Central Hotel

Having stayed in many other "Standard" rooms this was by far the biggest disappointment. For the money we paid the room didn't come up to standard. Small. Stuffy and heated only by a plug in radiator. Bathroom had no heating whatsoever and the draught from the window was ridiculous. Very very disappointed with this hotel. Despite the central location and the cleanliness of the room I don't think we would stay here again.
