Best Western Athens, AL

Wife and I stopped for an overnight stay as a half-way point to our destination so we wanted something clean, comfortable and cheap and this fit the bill. Easy check in, friendly staff and pretty comfortable room. Don’t know that I’d want to use for a family vacation but if you were going to be traveling solo or as a couple I wouldn’t be afraid to stay for a weekend. One thing… room 124 has THE BEST shower I’ve ever used in my life ANYWHERE! Perfect water temp and amazing pressure and shower head pattern! The king bed was very comfortable and I slept really good. I would however suggest a sound machine since the doors open up to the outside. All in all, though, a very solid 4-1/2 stars out of 5 if you don’t require luxury.

I appreciated the cleanliness of the room, and the breakfast was great. The room is in need of updating and clearly has been maintained by non professionals who don't know what they're doing. Terrible looking, unpainted drywall repairs for example. The real reason for the bad review is the horrible worn out mattress. It was very uncomfortable and unpleasant for someone with back problems. They need new mattresses to continue having guests here

Nice updated rooms but the floor in the room was so dirty that I had to throw out my socks after 1 night..sticky, dirty my white socks were black. Needs a good cleaning daily with soap not just dusting. Very disappointed

The property was clean and I felt safe. However, if I had one recommendation for upgrade it would be to improve on breakfast options..a bit more variety and softer eggs and biscuits.
