I try to never leave poor reviews. Unfortunately, however, there was no ocean or beach view when I stayed. I was not told until after booking nonrefundable stay that they were working on the outside of the building. Upon checkin I told the host about the scaffolding still up and blocking, that it would be removed the next day. Needless to say it was not. They were banging and grinding outside during daylight the entire time we were there. In addition to the noise and blocking of the view, we were not even able to go out our door onto the patio. Once the workers knew we were in the unit, they made a barrier so we were unable to even open the patio door. As the unit had no windows it left us with only one exit. I don’t know what their fire codes are, but I can’t imagine it’s up to code leaving only one accessible exit. Upon speaking to the workers, they informed us they were weeks from being complete and the property was well aware of the fact. Before leaving a review I did reach out to the owner with my concerns, and just received a “thanks for letting him know.” If I had known the property was being worked on I would have booked somewhere else, as there were several similar properties in the area for the same price.
