The apartment inside was as it was described. The outside was not. It is not close to the ocean and it's extremely noisy all night long as it is close to a busy street. The biggest concern about this trip was how punitive and rigid the host was. After less than 24 hours we received a message regarding the air conditioning. We had just gotten to the apartment and we were going in and out from the outside balcony and also later we turned the AC down as it was set at 72 and was often 73 or higher in the apartment. I personally am going though menopause and we both like it to be on the colder side and since we paid almost 3k for 4 nights, I guess we thought we could have the temperature at a place that felt comfortable for us. What happened is that Shelley felt it was ok to send a punitive email stating that we would have to pay to fix the air conditioner if for some reason it broke. It was threatening and not necessary and honestly it dampened our mood on our first trip to Key West. There are many things to note about this apartment and it's location. It is far from almost everything you will want to do in Key West. The bikes are a very nice touch but if you don't want to ride bikes you will need to rent a car, golf cart or bikes in order to get around. If you want to be close to shops, museums and restaurants do not stay at this location. There is no natural beach. There is a pool that has some parts of it with a bit of sand with big rocks right in front of you.
