Avoid this Hotel! Definitely NOT 5 star

Certainly not a 5 star hotel. Full of mosquitoes. Buffet breakfast very haphazard - staff not replenishing food and drink items in timely manner. Do not use travel desk at hotel. Given a driver who did not know route and constantly changing direction (we had to google route and show him way!) and after consulting with travel desk by phone, it was agreed we would only have half day (4 hours) for half the price and this was reconfirmed by Manjusha Shibin. At check out, we were still charged for full day. After having to wait 1.5 hours, and speaking to Manushi, she would only discount the full day charge of 5000 rupees to 4000 rupees despite her previous confirmation. As a result of hotel poor service, we nearly missed our train causing huge amount of stress and were forced into paying. Very poor customer service which has left us feeling cheated and extremely upset. Whilst at the hotel, we noticed many people complaining. Not recommended. Rooms needed renovating, poorly cleaned. Facilities lacking - had to wait an hour for a drink in the bar. There are huge advertising signs stating Zhima Restaurant now open but it is still being renovated so only eating option is the buffet which does not make for a convivial relaxing evening with friends. This hotel would struggle to get a 2 star rating in most countries.

We picked this hotel because of their excellent Travel Desk services. From the very first Manjusha was very responsive and helped us with our travel bookings. We made a last minute decision to go to Kochi and were looking for someone local to help with travel arrangements. Manjusha helped with picking out trip ideas for us as well as arranging a car and driver. Everything was reasonably priced and well coordinated. The hotel itself was good with friendly staff. Breakfast buffet which was included was very good. I’d recommend this place especially their concierge services.

Reception Staff were very helpful especially Anakha, Sajin and Devlin. We only booked the one night stay as needed to be near train station for our next part of our trip. Only downside of hotel was the amount mosquitos. Unfortunately they were in our room on 23 floor and where we sat in reception area. Our room also smelt damp. We got bitten more here than on our backwaters trip. Yes we know it’s India but we have been travelling over two weeks and managed to avoid them on the whole until now. Breakfast seemed very disorganised and there was no hot water to make tea. I asked staff twice and eventually I was brought some in a cup. Seems something so basic should have been on display.

Location is great. 2 minutes away from metro station. Could go shopping every day. Breakfast was great including continental and South Indian. Service was excellent. Staff are very helpful namely Ajay, Delvin. Really felt like home.

Best thing liked about the hotel was ala carte food preparation was very good and tasty, with good portions. Good staff members but Hotel is low on staff so there are many issues related to that and building is old with frequent elevator issues.

I arrived 45 minutes before the 2pm checkin time, after a tiring journey. I asked if I could leave my bags, or if my room was available for early checkin. I was in luck! Reception told me that my room was ready, and to wait in the lobby. 45 minutes later, at the official checkin time, I was getting impatient. (If my room was not ready, tell me, don't tell me lies). I was checked in, and told that my bags would be sent up straight away. I went to my room, and waited for my bags. After 30 minutes of no bags I went down again to reception. My bags had been lost! Me and the bell boy eventually found my bags. I was very tired by this time, I grabbed a shower and realised how filthy and run-down the room was. I had partially unpacked by this time, but I decided to challenge the whole situation with the manager. I found him strutting around reception. I explained the situation, and requested a new room. "Give me 5 minutes" he said. 20 miuntes later he had disappeared. I was eventually given a clean room. But the safe was defective, and the minibar locked. I stayed 3 nights. My experience did not improve - poolside areas were dirty, service was slow or non-existent, no coffee was available at breakfast!!, no clean glasses available for water in reception, etc, etc. 5 star? I don't think so!!! And Radisson Blu??? No where near the standard of any other Radisson Blu hotel that I've ever stayed in, and not worthy of the name Radisson Blu. Shocking.

Will not recommend or will not stay again

Stayed for a night with elders in the family. The front desk was courteous but rest of the staff was rude. No sense of hospitality. We checked in around 2:30 and decided to try the restaurant in the hotel when the front desk said that they serve veg thali. We waited for 20 minutes after which the server came and said there is no thali since it’s already 3. The whole point of going into the restaurant was because of the availability of thali. Then we ordered paratha, okra and a chicken dish. It took an hour before the food was served even though there were hardly 3 other tables occupied. Then about the food, it’s an understatement to say it was spicy. We couldn’t finish the food. Restaurant was a total disappointment. Once we retired for the night we could hear people talking/shouting outside our door till 11:30 pm. No quiet time at all. During the same time I received at least 4 different blank calls on their intercom. It stopped after I called the front desk and told them that I will be calling the cops. Totally disappointed.
