My wife and I stayed at the Allegria Hotel from August 15-17. Overall, our stay was ok. Nothing special. Upon checking in on Friday night, our safe was locked, our phone wasn’t working, there was food that was previously left in our fridge from the previous guests and also the vanity mirror looked like there were hair particles from someone shaving. Not sure if our room was thoroughly cleaned before we checked in. We went to front desk to let them know about the phone, but didn’t tell them about the other things because it was late and we just wanted to sleep. Maintenance came Friday night, but couldn’t get the phone to work. He said he’ll come back on Saturday and fix it, but never did. The weekend we did not have a phone, and Saturday night our floor was very noisy when we were trying to sleep, but we did not have a phone to call and make a noise complaint. We were on the 3rd floor, room 308. The only positive thing about the hotel is the beach and its surrounding area. Other than that, the price to pay for a weekend isn’t worth it in my opinion. We are local New Yorkers, in our early 30s, that just wanted a weekend away, to a location that’s nearby.

Our Stay at Allegria

The service staff were very helpful and did a good job keeping the room clean and organized. The food was adequate. We were very disappointed with the quality of the mattress, which was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were overly large and caused neck strain for some of the guests. Needless to say, sleep is key for an enjoyable stay anywhere. In addition, the key card malfunctioned and repeated requests to have it repaired were ineffective or ignored. Sadly, we do not feel that we could recommend Allegria to friends or family for the reasons indicated.

Where to begin...a long list

Because it the only decent hotel on Long Beach they're able to charge high rates. Its pretty much a Best Western. 1. Towels old and dingy 2. No Wifi- does not work. I brought my computer down to the front desk for assistance and the guy couldn't help me. My friend staying there experienced the same. 3. No food served on the pool roof during the week 4. The roof pool is soooo small 5. Events calendar displayed for July but it was August and no events during the peak summer month 6. Rude lady at beach chair/towel/beach card check in said after she was annoyed with my son playing with a beach ball that was for sale, "Take him out there to the beach maybe he'll get attacked by a shark". Thats great for a kid to hear! 7. You have to carry you own beach chairs and towels a far distance to where you can swim on the beach- glad I'm paying $500 a night for that. 8. You sign away your life to borrow beach chair, towels and the beach card. CRAZY!!! Can't there be a beach attendant on the beach already!?!? 9. Old dingy hotel the hallways remind me of a Best Western but wait I'm paying $500. 10. Read the reviews of the restaurant on the property. Enough said...regarding the food. 11. Lobby and pool furniture....again Best Western!! Couldn't wait to leave this hotel, sooooo glad I only stayed one night. Never again am I trusting my friend and going along with her terrible hotel picking skills.

Great location right on the beach. Was a little confused by instructions on how to access the amenities (beach, pool, etc). Would have preferred to have been given a sheet of paper or have something in the room with the info. It was hard to remember it all and the front desk stayed busy so it took waiting in line to ask questions. Pool was out of towels for the entire hour+ we were there. But pool was nice. View from roof top was fantastic. Room was clean, smart set up for coming from beach. Would definitely stay again.
