Location was ideal and I was glad that I saw that check-in is at Hotel Krone, not far down the road. We stayed in the Egyptian room, another flight up stairs from the elevator, manageable for us but something to consider with heavy luggage if you want this room. A tower fan was available as well as a mini-fridge.

We had a fantastic stay at Altstadt Magic in Luzern. The hotel is right in the heart of old town and less than a 10 minute walk to anything you would want to see. The staff were all friendly and helpful especially Ekaterina who helped us to get our lost luggage from the airline. She was very communicative throughout the process. The room itself had a balcony with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains

The Symphony room was close to restaurants, the river, shopping, etc. Unfortunately the room is above a restaurant so it frequently smelled of onions. Lack of air con means opening the window allowing the staff smoking area air to waft in. Beds were fine. Room did have refrigerator. No other amenities.

Great location

Absolutely great location Only downfall is that you have to checkin and out 120 metres away at the Krone hotel.no phone to call reception you have to communicate through WhatsApp. Room got very hot but you can’t even control temperature, as it’s regulated. Also no English subtitles on tv , that’s regulated too . Otherwise great location .Every room has a theme which is a great idea. Staff were friendly

Novelty isn't always enjoyable

First the good - reliable warm shower a god send in winter, mattress is the firmer and harder kind (a delight for me but not for all), breakfast at Krone Hotel is an absolute highlight with a humble but hearty spread that's affordable and comes with amazingly warm service. BUT, room is in proximity to a super loud clock tower that chimes every 15 minutes ALL THROUGH the night. There is no air conditioning in the room, relying purely on the windows to let in cool air during winter and a heating panel below the window but it is not temperature adjustable. And the theme of the room all depends on luck, we got ourselves the Swiss Chalet which we thought those red curtains are super error to begin with and decors with eerie smiles leaves little to be desired.
