This was my 5th stay at The Diplomat and by far my worst. I booked an oceanfront high floor with balcony room. There was sticky residue all over the bathroom mirror. The bath towels were obviously old. So old that the white towels were light gray. As a Hilton Gold member I did not receive my benefits or points. The staff were not warm and welcoming as they have been in previous years. The property is not the luxury property it once was.

I did not like that I was not informed that the prime restaurant was closed and I did not like that there was a convention of young cheerleaders 12-16 years attending it was mayhem. I have been a loyal curio client.

This property states on line like its a 5 star hotel first of all when u get to the hotel no one helps with the luggage, they also charge a $500 deposit witch is crazy I also asked in the front desk if some one can help me do something for a bday they told me the will get in contat with me and no one called …,I paid for a better room but the beds do not acomadate for two people and we were 3 guest,they are very small as well as the rooms the balcony is dirty and not taken care of if you call the front desk no one answer's , When you go out to the pool everything is old and has mold as well as the bar at the pool closes early and around six oclock the are picking up everything and you feel like they are kicking you out… The other pool was open and the following day it was close for repair .. They have 2 restaurants witch one was closed so you have to go out for dinner some were else cause everything is extremely expensive… They say its a smoke free environment but the hall ways smell like mariguana …

We couldn’t hear the music due to so much noise from construction. The upstairs pool closed out of nowhere two days after we got there for the rest of our stay for more construction. I went on this trip to celebrate a big milestone and left disappointed. This place used to be so much better. We asked for an upgrade to have a balcony and they wanted us to pay more money. It was not worth anywhere near what I spent.

I thought this was a five star hotel it wasn’t. The bed was hard and the towels felt like sandpaper.Towels felt like we were a SuperEight motel and bed horrible at a five star price. The shower would only work on super hot. My husband had to use the bathroom and there was no toilet paper in our room. I called down to front desk and it took them 20 minutes to bring up some and they only brought one we were there for five nights. Why no extra toilet paper no where.We had a noise refrigerator and we couldn’t get any sleep and oh top of that they had a cheerleading convention kids everywhere not the kind of vacation we wanted. Couldn’t use pools or get chairs to sit in by the pool no matter how early we went about 70 people in each pool. We contacted manager and she made it seem like it was our fault that the we didn’t inform her we told the maid.It was a horrible experience and I have videos of the refrigerator and the trash that was left outside our room for two days with date stamps. I feel like we were robbed of a nice vacation and manager only took off resort fees and continued to try and make us at fault. How can a nice five star hotel run out of toilet paper and have you wait 20 minutes for it? Very unsatisfied customer
