Wonderful stay! Super comfortable spacious room. Appreciated having double sinks in the bathroom. AC worked fantastic which was a huge plus for us as it was very hot and humid outside during our stay. Enjoyed dessert in the restaurant. Overall a really lovely stay.

Quiet and refined

Very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Birks; the hotel is quiet, which is what we wanted for a relaxing getaway at a high class hotel. Really appreciated the comfortable armchairs and sofa in the suite. In the heart of downtown Montreal, mere steps away from public transit, it was nice to escape from the hustle bustle into the quiet sanctity of the hotel. Hope to stay there again!

Not too safe for families

I asked for a crib when I booked and again via telephone to ensure it would be there when I arrived. They had an old pack and play with loose fitting sheets. My child’s foot fell through a hole in it. And then we found a pill for a painkiller on the floor of the bathroom (it wasn’t ours). For a 5 star hotel, they certainly aren’t cautious for families

To be honest I really enjoyed this hotel until 2 incidences occurred. I noticed that the staff were young which would be fine but every day when passing by the reception, depending on who was there, was dependent on whether they greeted you. The proximity is close when walking by to get to the stairs. Everything was beautiful aesthetically and clean. The bartenders at the restaurant Henri were exceptionally talented and accommodating. The 2nd incident occurred on the very last day when I called the front desk and asked them to hold my luggages downstairs as I went to go have brunch at the restaurant. Everything was great until we had finished eating and realized our luggage was not downstairs, they had actually placed it into my car which was in the valet. I had not provided them my ticket as it was still on me nor did I tell them to pull my car up. Normally this wouldn't be bothersome. But the reason this was is because I was celebrating my birthday and I received some gifts and purchased some things within Montreal and they had placed my luggage on top of a bag where it squished in the trunk of my SUV. My $300 vanity mirror had been completely broken on one side. When I called to speak to the front desk upon discovering this the attitude of the girl who was quite young was that of someone who didn't want to claim responsibility for their mistake. She claimed that there's no proof that it wasn't broken before. I spent thousands staying there for 4 days. Truly sad it ended
