I like to think of myself as a reasonable person, but I did not leave this place feeling as though management here thought that I was. Instead, I felt gaslit repeatedly. I needed a room for three people and paid for it. The sofa bed was not ready to go and there were no extra sheets to make it ready. Torn sheets were put on beds twice, dirty bathroom glasses repeatedly were not replaced, an extremely loose handle on the bathroom door was not repaired after multiple complaints and there were other problems, including a promise from the hotel manager that at checkout a letter of apology would be ready for me and that it would include a promise of a reduced rate for a future later visit. At check out there was no such letter. It was recommended to me by the on duty manager for me to look for it in my email, where it did eventually arrive, but nowhere close to when we checked out. Not that we would ever return even if they promised us two weeks for free. I don’t like to spend my free time repeatedly lecturing people and demanding better treatment, but that’s what I felt I was doing constantly on this vacation. If you’re good at pretending serious problems don’t exist at the place you’re trying to have fun at then go ahead and stay here. Otherwise, I recommend you spend your hard earned money and precious time elsewhere.

The property is located close to many of the Broadway theaters and was in easy walking distance to them. The neighborhood seemed safe and convenient to restaurants, shopping, Times Square, and the subway. My family and I will definitely stay here again on our next visit!

A Boutique Gem in the Heart of Manhattan

LUMA Hotel Times Square is a true hidden gem in Midtown Manhattan. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city with excellent transport links, and just steps from Bryant Park, which adds a touch of calm in the midst of the city's energy. The rooms are of great quality, offering thoughtful features such as ample electrical outlets, high-quality televisions, a Nespresso machine, and well-planned use of space—something not always easy to find in New York. The bathrooms are equally impressive, with a sleek design and premium toiletries that add a luxurious feel to your stay. What truly sets LUMA apart is the exceptional service. The staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and quick to respond to any requests. It’s rare to find a hotel team that strikes the right balance between being attentive and unobtrusive, and LUMA delivers on that front effortlessly. Another great perk is complimentary access to a fully equipped Crunch gym just a two-minute walk from the hotel—a real bonus for those who like to stay active while traveling. The on-site restaurant and bar are stylish and of a very high standard, with a great menu and atmosphere. The only minor downside was that the bar service could be a bit slow, especially when busy—this is the one area that could be improved. Times Square is 2 seconds away, the room was super clean, the staff was kind and efficient. The hotel held our bags after checkout at no additional cost. I would stay here again.
