The hotel is nice, a little expensive for what it is, and the front desk staff is not friendly at all. They welcome you, charge you for your deposit and don't tell you anything else when you leave to hand in your room. They charge you for a resort fee, which they never tell you anything about. When they check you in, they should be clear from the beginning when they check you in.

BEDBUGS! I stayed on the third floor, room 306. The first night, I didn’t realize it because we arrived around midnight. I noticed some bites but assumed they were from mosquitoes. The second night, we were out all day and got back late again. At around 12 a.m., I turned to adjust my pillow and that’s when I saw it. A BEDBUG crawling straight toward my face. I killed it, pulled the sheets back, and to my absolute horror, they were EVERYWHERE. I immediately tried calling the front desk using the room phone it didn’t work. So I had to go down in person, exhausted and furious. The person at the front desk didn’t even react. No apology, no concern just said they were fully booked and had no other rooms. He called their other hotel, Monte Carlo, and that one was full too. His only “solution” was handing me trash bags. I told him I was leaving, and all he said was “I understand.” That was it. They watched me go up and down the stairs carrying trash bags full of my belongings, and no one offered help, no one came to check the room, nothing. They clearly know this infestation exists and treat it like it’s normal. I asked for my money back and was told the manager wasn’t in, but that he would call me at 8 a.m. It’s now 5 p.m. no call, no message, nothing. What makes this worse is that I live in Virginia 3 hours and 40 minutes away. I had to drive back home in the middle of the night, exhausted, furious, and terrified I’d bring bedbugs into my house.

Overall location of the hotel was good and we enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet family oriented hotel in close proximity to all boardwalk activities and others within a short drive. The balcony was also very large with a nice table and chairs. The bad: the elevator was down for an entire day and we were on the sixth floor. Hotel staff never cleaned room, they simply emptied garbages and left fresh towels daily if you weren’t there. If you were in the room they knocked and asked what you needed but never came in. Small kitchenette was useful but no silverware or anything available, luckily my wife packed some stuff. My wife also made a complaint at the front desk about a broken drawer and mattress that with busted springs and the hotel manager never got back to her. She had to ask for 3 days in a row and finally got in touch with him when he happened to at the front desk. For the money I spent I’d expect a little more, but overall not a terrible stay. I’ll be trying somewhere else next year.

Bad shower pressure and temperature.

I hate to say it was only a in the middle, but I was not able to shower but once because it wasn’t even warm enough to feel clean! Not only was it not warm but that the pressure wasn’t any good at all. It literally took 5 minutes to rinse my hair.

During my recent stay, I encountered several issues that impacted the overall experience. The elevator was extremely slow and remained out of service for over 24 hours. The indoor pool and hot tub contained sand, and the cleanliness of the hot tub was concerning. The room door was very heavy and scraped loudly against the floor each time it opened or closed. The kitchenette was not equipped with any basic essentials such as dish soap or paper towels. Parking was very limited, and the luggage ramp was difficult to use with a fully loaded cart. The location was great.

1st and Last Time Stay

The bed was comfortable. I did not like being on the 6th floor although the view of the ocean was nice, I have a fear of heights. I will definitely check to make sure that the hotel I choose to rent next time has more than one elevator. It ruin my entire experience when the elevator went out of service. Iam 71 years old with some physical limitations and it was not fun hobbling down that many steps whenever I need something not to mention the time it took me to get my scooter back and fourth to the room. Saying I’m sorry for what I went through was not exceptable.

Complained about AC leaking on the carpet it was wet and super musty, brought up a dehumidifier which had to empty every day 2x a day and told them it was still musty and super inconvenient. My daughter has asthma. Never heard from anyone again. Room wasn’t serviced 2 days in a row. Had to always ask for towels, toilet paper and cups for coffee maker. Booked bc also had a small kitchen which had absolutely no pots/pans utensils to make anything in the room to keep costs down with my 5 girls. Elevator was broke for day and half, didn’t mind taking the steps but when you have beach chairs and belonging with kids it’s hard to walk 5 flights of stairs. Room had sand and hair in bathroom when arrived sand all over carpet i understand we are at the beach but when there’s an inch of dust on toilet paper holder, soap dispensers by sink that is not clean

The property advertised kitchenette for cooking. Not true. Nothing was in the room to fix meals. We asked and we were given some excuse about Covid etc. We had stayed at the Commander recently and we had dishes etc and were able to fix meals. The main reason I picked the Monte Carlo was for the kitchenette. I would have stayed at the Commander again but it was not available for our stay.
