After booking I emailed guest service for the room to be decorated for a birthday and that wasnt done. The first room was horrible smelled like paint or glue fumes so bad. They had to move us to a new room around 10pm cause i was unable to breathe. The restaurants are difficult to get into you need to book like 2 days in advance! I only got into 1 restaurant during my 8 day stay and they took over an hour to bring me my main course. The managers around the resort seemed grumpy but the regular staff was all friendly. Shuttle wait time was long for my kiddos we had to put alot of steps in to navigate from the family side to the buffet and beach. The property was overall maintained pools and landscaping.

Property is very well cared for and the staff is very attentive. The property is large and the walk from room to buffet can be 15 minutes. However they will offer to upgrade you for $1000 to an ocean Front room. You can’t get a reservation at any of the restaurants because the hotel prioritizes the club level guests first. Ocean front swimming is great, pools are large and bartenders are quick. Rooms are large but outdated. Mini bar was only restocked one time for a 6 day stay . Room service items are few, but service is quick. $10 cab ride to shopping downtown.

Hufe, crowded, dirty, old. You are on your own. Get ready to waste your time sitting in a ridiculous cart to drive u around, the cart runs every 15m (super annoying).

Big big property, if you’re not located near beach, it’s a bit of a hike unless you wait for shuttle. Bring a stroller or wagon to get around, the pools and staff were all great - our young kids had fun and enjoyed the kids sections at pool / buffet - some of property needs maintenance (we got stuck in the elevator), and ours wasn’t working - 3 flights of stairs with young kids is an adventure. Again, one of those properties that has different status for the black bands / blue bands and cards for towels (which I really despise) - no one wants your blue towels. Overall pretty good

Our stay was overall great! We had a fun time, there was a lot to do and staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room had a leak in the shower which made it very slippery in the bathroom. Wouldn’t have been an easy fix and we would have had to move rooms after unpacking and I wasn’t going to bother. Marks on the mirrors and many elevators didn’t work. Definitely some maintenance issues and the hotel could some renovations in the rooms. I did like the bath tub size, the room layout and the king sized bed. Pools and beaches were awesome. Restaurants were overall good, I was impressed by the quality and variety of food in the buffet. We had amazing food and service in the French and Italian restaurants. I liked how the hotel had various animals like cats, a donkey and a cow. The wild life was super cool to see too!! I would return to this hotel.

We’ve been to Sandos multiple times. This time we booked two rooms and they put us 60 rooms apart. Not acceptable for a family. Then when they moved us we didn’t get the same room we paid for. The food has gone downhill - options for kids are limited. The pools continue to be a great time with great bartenders. The seaweed in the beach was raked up but not picked ups we’d probably try a new place next time.

Resort is DATED! Nothing works at this resort.. if you're coming with children in strollers then expect to carry the stroller up and down the stairs as none of the elevators work. EXCEPT for the main lobby. Rooms are dated. The couches in the room are falling apart. The AC does not work in most of the restaurants so it gets extremely hot! The pool on the family side was pretty dirty. At the Spa, hydrotherapy is not working. The check out staff are not so friendly and have an attitude when you bring up these issues. Most of the employees don't speak English and the resort caters more to the visitors from South America. The staff at guest services were pleasant and willing to help.The food was good and the beach was clean. That's the only positive experience we had.
