Very nice , the room was clean and comfortable , and an easy walking distance to all the major attractions and train station . Lots of little restaurants nearby to choose from. I would absolutely stay there in the future.

While other rooms in the hotel Artorius might be ok, we have got Studio room in Annex Building. The entrance was behind the corner on Via dei Serpenti. The door led to a long corridor with another lock door and tiny courtyard with almost no sunlight since it was more like a well inside the building. The room window opened into this patio, not outside the building. After entering the room, I immediately mentioned humidity, musty smell, and luck of ventilation. No iron, no safety box. In my opinion this part of the building has never been a living space, but rather a ground floor storage, converted to “hotel rooms” by owners to maximize the profit. They apparently have no shame in setting up such a tourist trap. Ok, here comes my one star review as a payback.

Our 4 night stay was very disappointing. The double room photo on both Expedia and the hotels own website is misleading. There is only one photograph of a double room and It clearly shows an outdoor seating area, one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Our room was on the front with a standard window. They told us that only 2/10 rooms actually had the outside seating. The hotel also does not post room size in sq.m. The photos posted made the room appear much more spacious than ours actually seemed. The room itself was clean, recently renovated and comfortable enough except for the ( sagging) bed and the cramped space. The bathroom was good. There really are no amenities. There was a mini bar, but it was not fully stocked or maintained. Reception availability was part-time. The hotel does not provide breakfast, there is no coffee service and although there are many restaurants in the area, it is a several blocks to find coffee or breakfast in the morning. WiFi was a total disaster. We seldom had connection in our room, and regularly has to sit in the hotel stairway to have adequate connection. Our one attempt to have the hotel book a taxi was met with both a lack of enthusiasm and lack of confidence that we would actually get one. The hotel was not able to provide information on nearby taxi stands, even though we found one a few blocks away on Nationale. Toiletries…bring your own..two small bottles for 4 nights. There are so many better choices that Artorius.

Hotel Artorius was lovely and very affordable. The room was clean and spacious. The bathrooms were accommodating. I definitely would recommend staying there if looking for a great location without four or five star hotel budget.

This was a hidden gem, beautifully situated and convenient to restaurants, the Colisseum, and more. Our room was next off a small courtyard on the first floor with a grape vine trellis roof (full of grapes), and a nice screened porch area just for us. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff went way over and above helping us with setting up transportation to and from airport/cruise ports, and giving directions. I recommend this hotel highly!

The hotel room was what we expected. The employees weren’t friendly at all especially there was an older man who work black all the time stood by the door and didn’t even speak to the guests. He only stared which made us uncomfortable.

Highly recommend small, clean, well located hotel

The Artorius is perfectly located for the majority of sights in Rome and there were many, many, cafes and restaurants in the area. The rooms were spacious and had all amenities we required, we were able to get extra shower gel etc from reception with no fuss. The receptionists all spoke good English and were very helpful. Rooms were cleaned every day, beds made etc, shower was powerful and hot and the safe was an added bonus. The hairdryer wasn't the most powerful but I took my own in any case. The price was very reasonable and I really couldn't find anything to complain about, rather everything to recommend.

Staff were very helpful! Bathroom newly renovated and bedroom was very spacious for our 2 large suitcases. Unfortunately the door lock to our room was troublesome - something that was known to staff yet not fixed.
