The sole issue we encountered was with the front desk gentleman, who made me feel somewhat uncomfortable. I'm uncertain whether it was due to my attire or his reluctance to explain the hotel fees. I discovered the hold on my card only because another guest, staying next to us, informed the person checking in about it. The front desk attendant didn't mention it; instead, he simply handed us our key card and room number, seeming somewhat dismissive. On the positive side, the rooms were clean and nice, and the hotel's structure is stunning. However, the breakfast selection was limited considering the price, and our waiter was overly attentive, repeatedly checking if we were finished and presenting the bill prematurely, which made me feel rushed and uncomfortable, prompting us to conclude our meal. My primary concern lies with the service rather than the hotel itself.

This place was an excellent place to stay with its historical history. I would only say, the only complaint i would give is that the bed was very uncomfortable. I tossed and turned all nights and would wake up very sore. Other then that, it was awesome to stay there. I still gave it 4 and a half stars.

Historical hotel Menger definitely a must stay

This was our first time coming to this hotel. We were greated with a friendly smile and made our registration process very easy. They were even able to get us a room earlier than we had expected. We were able to park our car early too. The valet service was excellent and were very nice. The room was clean and very nice. Loved the fact that the hotel is historical and haunted. The furniture is so amazing and the decor was gorgeous and loved the old historical artifacts there. We will definitely be back.

Very nice and unique hotel. The valet staff was great and very helpful with parking. We had camping gear in the bed of our truck and they were able to park our vehicle right near the entrance and keep an eye on it through the night so nothing was stolen. Hotel is close to everything; The Alamo, the riverwalk, dining, shopping etc.

Great place

The location is excellent for site seeing. Located next to the Riverwalk Mall. The rooms were nice with very comfortable beds. Clean. Pool area is nice, kid friendly. The A/C was ok, but you cannot adjust the thermostat lower 65 if you like it cold. Room seemed a little stuffy but it was 100F outside. there was a note during check in in regards to room temps. Overall I will stay here again.
