Stayed in a suite that turned out to be huge, but not that well appointed. It was in the historic wing but seemed dark and not welcoming. Bed was comfortable, location was awesome.

The woman who checked me in was so friendly and gave me recommendations on what to do while in San Antonio. The hotel is beautiful and my room was cute and quiet. The only downside was the pillows in the bed. The pillows are extremely over sized, hard and very difficult to sleep on. Don't get me wrong, the pillows were great for sitting up in bed but much too thick to lay your head and get a good night's sleep.

This was the first time I stayed at the Menger . It was very comfortable and right in the heart of the Alamo Plaza. The Alamo was a short walk across the street, shopping and fine dining all within a few minutes walk. The valet parking is a little expensive for me, but very convenient. They have a nice restaurant and bar downstairs, room service for the early morning breakfast in bed, and the first floor is like a little time capsule of this historic hotel. I'll come back in a future visit and stay a little longer

Hotel was really charming, I stayed with my two sons and they loved it as well. The pool area with the large scaled games were really nice, and next time we will take advantage of the pool area because it was so nice. We literally could walk a few steps away from the hotel and be inside the mall, which helped because we forgot a few clothing items. Also, there was dining near the mall, and attached to the hotel; very convenient. Everything is near there, so it was so convenient. The parking is easy because it is valet, and it's the same price no matter how often you come and go. Valet was also very quick. Everyone that worked there was very pleasant, and just helped out with a smile. I will definitely stay there each visit.

We always stay at the Menger when visiting San Antonio. It’s a beautiful, historic hotel very close the Riverwalk and great restaurants. And reasonably priced!
