Beautiful older hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. We had a terrace with our room which was really enjoyable. Great location for walking around Old San Juan

Room was in good condition. Not all the staff that encountered were friendly and seemed to not believe in good customer service , but this doesn't reflect the entire staff. Also some amenities offered while booking this location were not available upon arrival at the location, for example the roof top bar and the complimentary wine for the room. The biggest complaint was in the middle of the night around 3 am the fire alarm went off and myself along with my female companion had to rush from our bed and out the door , all for a false alarm and the hotle staff was very nonchalant regarding this huge inconvenience.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of old San Juan. Walkable to everything. Room was huge and clean. Loved the rooftop. Staff was friendly.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. While the staff was friendly and professional, our stay was marred by several major issues. We were unable to check in on time due to housekeeping delays, and on both nights of our stay, the fire alarm went off around 2:30 a.m., forcing all guests to evacuate temporarily. Although the hotel offered $40 in compensation, it hardly covered the inconvenience — we missed planned activities because of the late check-in and spent much of our time in San Juan exhausted from lack of sleep. For a property that presents itself as a top-tier hotel, the experience was disappointing and not reflective of the quality we expected.

Everything about the Decanter Hotel was amazing! Our room was clean and comfy. They have a coffee machine that is quick and has many options. The staff is extemely nice and friendly. The location is perfect for Old San Juan. I fully recommend this hotel!
