Our stay at the intercontinental hotel was beyond our expectations. The facilities and rooms were all you would expect from a five star hotel, but added to these expectations were a staff that went above and beyond any normal requirement. With friendly assistance and advice whenever help was needed nothing seemed any trouble. The breakfast was top quality and again the friendliness of our hosts was remarkably good. We gladly recommend the Intercontinental to any wishing to have a luxurious stay in the heart of Sydney

Hotel room ok, but food and beverage was a disaste

Hotel was fine but the problem was with every aspect of their Food And Beverage. Breakfast was a mess, plates not cleared and important to get help to order anything. Lunch was worse but the absolute top off was the disguising part was the evening event dinner. Poor food, dry salad and cold mains. Dirty plates, no clearing of dirty plates and desert plonked on top of dirty dinner plates. Service was rude and disorganised and the plate has insects crawl off it. Shocking for an expensive hotel. Total let down.

An excellent property overall. Only one minor but frustrating criticism is the placement of the two "reading lights" over the bed, literally 30cm apart make it impossible for one to read while the other tries to sleep. Either light floodlights the the bed.

Faultless stay. Perfect location, fantastic rooms, nice bar area. As a seasoned traveller I’d say the breakfasts are amongst the best I’ve ever had. The breakfast area is busy but the staff cope admirably. Highly recommended if travelling to business for pleasure or business.
