Too many issues, poor handling–not worth the stay

My stay included several disappointing experiences, especially toward the end. On the last evening, there was no hot water. That night, a loud alarm went off for no reason, waking all the guests. The following morning, due to a water leak, breakfast was relocated to the lobby – but what was offered was just an apple and a muffin. That does not qualify as breakfast, especially when it’s advertised as part of the stay. I asked about the cost of international calls from the room phone but was told they didn’t know. I asked for a follow-up, but no one got back to me. Later, when I tried calling, the phone didn’t work, even though clear instructions were printed on it. The coffee in the lobby was very poor – it seemed to have been brewed early in the morning and never refreshed. One morning, we were told we had ten minutes to vacate the room for housekeeping. That is far too short. We had to wait outside until the cleaning was done. At least 30 minutes would have been a fair request. On a positive note, the quality of the cleaning itself was good – rooms were cleaned thoroughly when service was provided. However, considering the number of issues – technical, service-related, and communication failures – some form of compensation should have been offered. It’s not just about what went wrong, but how it was (not) handled. I would not choose to stay here again.

Unfortunately, we had roaches in our room. Slept with light on the whole night. Next morning, we were informed of a main water break in kitchen and we left to another hotel. Inspect everything or just don't do it.

**Negative Experience at Hotel: Property Damage and Inadequate Resolution** Upon arriving at the hotel, we encountered a severe water line break in the breakfast area. Consequently, we were assigned a room directly adjacent to the affected area. The room’s floor was rising due to water damage, and the room had an unpleasant odor After several attempts, the toilet finally functioned, but the water damage continued to affect the floor. Upon reporting the issue to the hotel staff in the lobby, They did not even offer another room instead the staff member inspected the room assured us that the toilet had been fixed and that the water damage was not a result of recent water leaks. Despite our request for a refund, the staff member informed us that we needed to contact the manager on-site to initiate the refund process. Unfortunately, we have been unable to reach the manager on-site for two consecutive days, and Expedia have also been unsuccessful And Have Not Heard Back . This lack of communication and inadequate resolution has significantly impacted our experience at the hotel. Also We Have Stayed At La Quinta Before And This Is Definitely A Hotel That Was A Baymont Inn & Suites That They Had Slapped The La Quinta Name On .

I like La Quinta hotels, we have been to a few but we do not like this one. The lady that checked us in was great, super friendly and professional. My issue with hotel is the room. The interior of the room was nice looking and clean. But the AC was very noisy rattly. **The bed was horrible, it was hard and lumpy, and pillows were small and lumpy also. We both hurt and flipped all night, we feel we would have slept better on the floor. Outside of the room was dirty looking, they need to power wash the walk ways. The hotel was priced good but I would pay more and go else where next time, because that bed was horrible.

So this was not my best stay at all. Pretty noisy at night and during the day. My room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. I kept finding nail clippings and strands of hair everywhere even on new towels. During my stay there was a massive water leak that covered the parking lot and first floor of the hotel. At least your by the police station if anything happens!

The hotel is right next to Busch Gardens. Prefect easy check in. Went to concert at the Yuengling Center and was nice and close.

Wasn’t expecting much since I looked for cheap accommodations for a quick two night stay. The front desk staff and breakfast attendant were rude. Lack of communication and even eye contact during check in and out. Breakfast attendant yelled at most of the guests while we were dining all while sitting in a chair across the room. The breakfast was cold (sausage patties), only boiled eggs as an option for eggs, and on our last day, it looks like a pipe busted and flooded out the hall leading to the ice machine, and breakfast area, so the only breakfast available was a banana, apple, muffin and coffee. Someone pulled the fire alarm around 11:30pm the night before, which I would assume was when that pipe busted and flooded out the first floor. The beds were terribly stiff and the pillows old and flat. The floor in our room was not swept. We found price tags and small pieces of paper around different parts of the room. The location was very convenient to where we needed to go and had close accommodations for dining. Would not stay here again.

Motel Step-up

We were in town for a dance clinic at USF and this hotel was suggested by booking. For the price we paid it was somewhat on par, however the quality was less than desirable. Our room was ok, but had no closet to hang clothes, which is odd to me. The air conditioner was LOUD! I woke several times a night because it sounded like a small engine landing. If you’re looking to go to Busch Gardens it’s a great location.

I guess guests use this hotel solely to visit Busch gardens. As we did. It’s not a great location to be honest. The only decent place to eat or drink is the bar on 30th. The hotel staff are very friendly, a decent breakfast - maybe describe it as clean and utilitarian? No bar or restaurant. It’s no-ones fault that BG isn’t located in the best part of Tampa.
