When I went to check in at the La Fonda the front desk person was the rudest person ever! I ask him how much is it to upgrade rooms! He looked on the computer and said you have already been upgraded! I said oh ok thanks! My wife happened to walk up to the desk and said to ME “did you ask to upgrade and the rude desk person said “what’s up with asking to upgrade, am I supposed to know who you are?” My wife said I wasn’t talking to you, I was kidding with my husband! His response was very disrespectful and said I don’t get the joke! I responded to him and I didn’t want anything free I asked how much to upgrade! My wife and I walked away! Later I came down and talked to him and said I don’t appreciate how you talked to my wife and he and I got into a loud altercation! My wife came over and said let it go! The guy said if you don’t like it hear I will refund your money and you can leave!! We stayed the night but were very disappointed! Bad experience!!

Amazing location in the heart of everything. Very old historic building with some modern modifications. Parking was nice and seemed like an uncommon amenity. Coffee shop connected to lobby was an added convenience.

Rude desk manager. Wall with patched spot and no paint. (I saved the photo for proof) Light out in the ceiling. Out dated decor. Place is in need of renovation for sure. Had to switch hotels and not stay the nights reserved. My costs were fully refunded and I appreciate that the manager did that.

the room was way old and outdated. A separate tv sitting room had carpet that looked 20 years old, there was one old chair with no arms that had to be about 20 years old, and 2 metal chairs. Not at all the quality we expected from photos on the site. A rating of excellent? Really? We sacrificed the prepaid price and chose to go to another motel.

Located right on the central plaza of Taos. There are a lot of shopping and dining options available. Room was old fashioned in the style of 1920's western, but clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and hotel has nice lobby.
