The staff were great at the hotel. Our room was cute and comfortable. It is close to lots of restaurants, entertainment, and shopping. It is in a beautiful area and wed definitely stay there again.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a great size and well maintained. I could hear a lot of footsteps from the room above me but this couldn't really be helped!! Overall a super stay and I would recommend to others. Thank you.

Oh My . . . Pietermaai!

We stayed in a 2 bd Penthouse Ste. w/seaview. Though it was not the same layout as in the advertised images (something that should be ironed out), the suite was great in design, decor, view, and so on. Great air flow, which meant there wasn't really a need to use air conditioning. Room service was excellent. Indeed, all staff we encountered were wonderful. For a suite at that price point, however, kitchen utensils should really be improved. The few pans were falling apart at the handles, and the same was true of spatula. Worse, the teflon was peeling off of the pans, which is a toxicity problem! A member of the family has a very specialized diet for health reasons, so while we do eat out, we tend to need a place with a kitchen to make sure she has proper nourishment if unable to get her what she needs at restaurants. Cooking in the kitchen would have been easier with better quality kitchen items, and a blender would have been nice.

I enjoyed my stay. People just need to remember it’s a historic building and not a five star resort. I personally thought it was cute. A little noisy because my room was beside a restaurant and a building they were doing repairs on but it was horrible. Now a rented the split level. Maneuvering the stairs with my bag was difficult but I managed. The stairs are very narrow and has a turn to them. So if you are tall it maybe uncomfortable. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 because I liked the history feel and convenience of location

Ocean Upgrade

We enjoyed the upgrade to the penthouse. Its very convenient to downtown bars and restaurants. We also felt safe walking around after dark.

The hotel was amazing with helping with rental car accommodations after we arrived. Everyone was friendly and very welcoming. The street behind the hotel does have live music some days of the week so if you go to bed early you will hear it for a bit (we enjoyed the live music). Great walking distance to Punda and Queen Emma’s bridge. Overall a great experience.

Great stay. The hotel is amazing. The entire district is being flipped. A lot of construction and renovation in area properties. We highly recommend Pietermaai hotel but just be open to the near ghetto appearance of some of the area properties. Go in with an open mind. Thus is a very old community that is experiencing a huge rebuild. In a few years this will be a breathtaking destination

We loved the location we were close to restaurants and down town area. The rooms are a bit unique they are very small and not much privacy with the bathrooms being very open.

The staff was amazing and extra-helpful. The location was within walking distance to important attractions BUT taxis are very expensive SO renting a car is truly something to consider if staying for more than 3 days. Not everything, even when stated as 20 minutes, is walkable in the hot sun. Finally, there is the most adorable cat I've ever met (and I'm over 50). S/he is sweet and trusting and relies on the kindness of customers for love and food. I named her "Dushi Cat" in honor of Curacao and their love of life and its beauty. I've been told that management isn't a huge fan, BUT she made my trip extra special. To those who encounter this angel, please buy proper cat food or make sure anything you give the cat is okay for cats to eat. I very much enjoyed my stay at Pietermaii Boutique Hotel. It's NOT a Marriott, and that's the point.

I had a great experience with the hotel. The staff members were sweet and helpful. The only issue is parking, which isn't related to the hotel. The free spots are very limited and hard to get.

Great location, excellent service and friendly staff. However, parking was a nightmare and our room had issues. Due to a construction problem, water ran from the shower onto the bedroom floor and on the floor below. After a week, they moved us to another room. I feel that Management should have responded faster. I was told that this was a long term problem at this hotel.

Historic Hotel in Lively Pietermaai

A gorgeous old building with a mixture of rooms. Ours was room 21 which faced into a courtyard behind Ginger restaurant and backed onto the pool area where we had our own little table and chairs to chill. Large room but toilet and shower upstairs up a very steep staircase - this is an old building but if you're infirm then would be good to know in advance. Location is safe and fun - in the middle of the Pietermaai district which is very lively especially on Thursday nights! Would definitely return. Great restaurants and bars on your doorstep yet just a 10 minute walk to the town center.

I loved everything about the hotel … great comfortable room , lovely staff , beautifully decorated. Only one issue… I would have liked hot water in the bathroom sink. I’m not sure why it wasn’t there but I would have wanted that for many reasons. All else was great!
