We loved our stay here! The location is so beautiful with unobstructed views of the bay. And there is plenty of sand to actually play on the bayside too! But if you want the big beach feeling, the west end beach is easy walking distance. Everyone on the island is super kind and we had great food at Captain Snappers. It was a perfect fall family getaway. Highly recommend staying here.

This property was exceptional. I hadn't been to the beach since i was a kid but wanted to celebrate a birthday on the ocean. This property did not disappoint. The house itself was clean and spacious, perfect for the 7 guests in our party. We utilized the kitchen to cook every night during our stay. The rooms were clean with no sand. The porch was awesome, especially for playing board games in the evening or reading with a view. The dock was amazing, it was a great way to relax and unwind. It was also a short walk to west end beach. We started every morning with a long walk on the beach (now I get the hype) on the bay side, spent the days on the gulf side watching the waves and playing in the water, and would end our days unwinding on the dock. I'm not sure I've ever stayed in such a perfect place. I would 1000% recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway!

Great place

Wonderful clean property with excellent views. Only complaint is with Vacasa about early check-in. They said we would get a text when it was clean/ready. We drove by ourselves and noticed cleaner had left and got in early; text never came.

Great getaway with the grandkids

Property is clean, layer out well and beautifully situated with views of the bay and the gulf. Pier in the bay is a great place to relax with some fishing, wildlife watching and relaxing while the sun goes down.

A great find, but pack essentials

Our family of four (both kids college-aged) stayed here Christmas 2021. The house was amazing. Decorations were awesome, furniture very comfortable, clean, well stocked with kitchen cookware, and check in was easy. We received a code to the door the morning of arrival. The house has the bay side out the back door and the Gulf is across the street from the front door. The house is three houses from the end of the street, so the family would walk down the undeveloped beach area. Our son went about four miles down the beach one morning Huge screened-in porch to keep the bugs at bay is also a huge plus, and TVs that don’t require an IT degree was awesome. Lately it seems we land in houses with multiple remote controls. This was one basic remote with an on and off button, perfect! And the town was very low key. I recommend getting groceries on the mainland, especially spirits if you like mixers. What I normally pay $42 in Texas for a bottle was $70 on the island. $25 bottle of vodka in Texas was $50 on Dauphin. The house was absolutely perfect. The ferry ride, Fort Gaines, Lighthouse Bakery, all must-do’s. My only complaint would be with the management company who appears to be trying to save nickels and dimes. Although the house was clean beyond belief, we arrived, family of four for one week, to find four rolls of toilet paper, one roll of Scott towels, two trash bags, no Kleenex in the bathroom, three dish-washer pods in a ziploc on the counter, and no salt or sugar. Huge container of pepper, but no salt (although the owners do have a specialty spice rack that they obviously keep stocked). I understand not having an overloaded cabinet, but 15+ years of VRBO, we have always had salt and sugar and enough detergent to do dishes daily, especially a family of four. And two kitchen trash bags for a week when the house sleeps ten…crazy. For the price paid, it should have these essential items supplied. So plan to buy even the most basic of items prior to your arrival or pay a premium on the island. This isn’t a reflection on the owner or house, simply the management company. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and simply pack toilet paper, trash bags, salt, etc. Thanks for an amazing week on Dauphin Island. This is a great property.

It was excellent and exactly what our family needed! Perfect distance from the beach. Loved the sounds of the waves across the road. Clean and very wel decorated. All kitchen supplies are there. No seasonings in cabinet except salt and pepper.

Wonderful home right on the beach!

We loved this beach house! Clean and well appointed. The screened in porch was our favorite thing about this place! Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip short due to the tropical storm.

The Perfect Vacation

We spent 17 nights in this beach house and it was the perfect vacation. Let me first say that my family has been extremely COVID cautious for the past year, we still do curbside pickup 99% of the time, so the location of this property could not have been better. It is literally 5 houses from the west end beach, which was not open to to the public yet, and miles and miles of uninhabited beachfront. We are a family of fisherman and while we didn't catch anything on the Sound side, we were able to catch enough whiting on the Gulf side to have a fish fry for seven. The fish cleaning station and outdoor shower came in very handy. The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated. As mentioned by others, the kitchen was well stocked (we fortunately had brought our own crock pot). There is also a love seat and comfy chair in the living room that are not pictured so enough seating for our family. We did not go out much due to COVID but did get a shrimp boil from Skinners and ordered from Island Rainbow, both very good. Unfortunately we were not able to use the screened in porch as much as we would have like due to it being cool and windy. But it was spacious and had a great view. I would definitely recommend this lovely beach house to anyone.

So relaxing

We have rented a place 5 times in the last 8 years on Dauphin Island during different seasons, this is by far our favorite, we were here for Christmas 2020 and it was so peaceful, the decks and porches that go around the house make it easy to find a place to sit and relax and avoid the wind if it’s cold and shady if it’s warm, we never ate out we planned on it but the kitchen had everything we needed, and we ran down to Skinners and got fresh shrimp and crab almost every day, the house was very clean and smelled fresh, everything is cozy and very comfortable, lots of games, puzzles, books This was the best place ever to have a Christmas vacation and the only complaint from husband and kids was that we didn’t stay longer

Wonderful winter getaway

Beautiful relaxation

This house was beyond wonderful! Beautiful and relaxing. Views are fabulous! We did not want to leave. We could have stayed there forever! We would love to come back soon as we can. Absolutely loved everything! Sunrises and sunsets can be seen there everyday.
