This hotel is great - gorgeous decor! I’ve stayed at the Truitt/Aida three times now and I’m never disappointed. The rooms are fabulous and the common areas are beautifully appointed. Easily my favorite place to stay in KC!

Room 1A is nice -bathroom is huge with a private exit and huge open shower. It is on the ground floor and right across from the housekeeping closet and opposite the coffee station. Lots of activity around it and the stairs come out at the room entry so the upstairs guests are quite noisy going right down into the tiny hallway. It is nicely appointed with little details. The apples were rotten-but replaced this AM with new ones. So thank you for noticing! One suggestion would be to give particular details about which room you are letting (carriage house, first floor, across the street, upstairs) so you can determine if you want to reserve a stay. I will be pickier next time.

WOW. I am honestly blown away by how amazing this hotel was. We booked it last minute and it turned out to be the BEST decision ever. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations — the amenities were incredible, the room was absolutely perfect, and the overall experience was beyond anything we could have hoped for. This place deserves way more than 5 stars… if I could give it 20 stars, I would without hesitation! I cannot recommend this hotel enough!!!

The historic renovated house was fabulous! Beautifully decorated with a homey feel that made it comfortable to hang out in the public areas. Our room was spotless, with wonderful attention to detail. The walk in shower was massive and the waterfall shower head was sheer heaven! The bed was very comfy, although, I must say the down comforter was almost too warm… and that was with the thermostat turned all the way down! This location was perfect, able to walk to 2 of the best art museums easily, and within walking distance to catch the city tram, as well. We loved our stay here and would love to stay here again in the future!

I don’t want to stay anywhere else now. It was a beautiful historic mansion with an updated interior. It still has the charm and was cozy. It was in walking distance to KCAI, very clean and quiet. It was also nice because our family was in one house and could walk across the street to our family in the other house. I hope to stay there everytime I go visit my student at KCAI. Absolutely amazing!

What an amazing find. Stayed for a Chiefs game for two nights. Clean, easy parking, and a comfortable bed! Only complaint was the noise from the people above us but that’s not the hotels fault! The walls seemed thin. Close to a bunch of great dining/bars as well!
