I loved the location. As soon we step out of the hotel we were in the middle of Nishiki Market and all the amazing food this place had to offer. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They even help me retrieve an item that I had left in Osaka. They were able to have it delivered to the hotel in one day. What was tricky about this location was finding the entrance upon arrival. The entrance is in an alley and not in the Main Street, which was confusing at first. But not a major inconvenience.

If you like to have a clean stay I do not recommend this hotel. Upon entering the room, I noticed there were stains on every wall, extremely heavy dust accumulation on the bathroom vents, and the shower had yellow stains on the floor. I even had to wipe down the table because there was left over stains. Despite the unhygienic nature of the rooms, the staff were very accommodating and pleasant. Upon alerting and showing the staff, the room, they relocated me to another room and apologized profusely.

The property was great. One recommendation i have for safety is to put nonslip matts in the bathtub. You have to be really careful getting out so as not to slip since the tub is super slippery. Other than that everything was great. The location so good since the shops, good and stores were all next to us.

Great location, clean hotel

Great location and very nice room. The self serve bar was nice in that it allows maximum freedom. My only complaint is that it took a while to realize that you press L to go up to reception. No other elevator buttons will work and you enter from a side street and down a level from reception.

This hotel was amazing! There was a record bar in the hotel, free welcome drinks, and a bath! The room was clean and comfortable and they had lots of self serve amenities as well as a great location. This will be my go-to for Kyoto!
