This place is literally right across the street from the beach. You really don't have any type of view from your room but that's not a big deal for us. The staff was absolutely fantastic. We arrived earlier than our check in & right away they took our luggage for us to store & gave us pool towels so we could go to the beach to wait for our rooms to be ready. Thanks guys for making our stay memorable!!

The room was extremely basic, it looked nothing like the pictures online. We were on the fourth floor and the elevator did not work the entire time we were there. There was no water in the room as promised. There was no coffee machine, coffee puck, coffee cups, cream/sugar or stir sticks. The phone in the room did not work so I was not able to call the front desk/reception. I had to walk down to tell them that there was no coffee machine in the unit. They said someone will be up to drop it off. When they came they came with four coffee pucks. I told them again there was no coffee machine, cups, cream, sugar or stir sticks. They came back was only the machine. I had to walk back down to the lobby again to ask for cups, cream, sugar and stir sticks. The second day, we came back to our room in the afternoon after an afternoon at the beach to find out we were locked out of the room. Again, I walked back to the lobby to imform the staff and they said someone will be up to change the battery. We weren't back up to our room and waited. Maintenance came I was not able to open the door. It took one hour for him to get tools drill a hole through the door and use a coat hanger to open it from the other side. Although the hotel is in an excellent location situated right across from the beach, I would not recommend this hotel.

Room was extremely small, very minimal lighting and the worst part is the mold all over the room. The elevator was also broken and we had to carry our luggage up 5 flights of stairs.

Hotel needs lots of work… lots. We were only there for one night thank goodness. The bathroom was literally right in front of our bed w a transparent door …. Why?? And the elevator was out of order, we were ok carrying our luggage up and down but still not ideal. I guess the only upside is that it’s right on ocean drive. We won’t be returning.

Absolutely terrible stay — do not book here. From the moment we arrived, it was a nightmare. They put us on the 4th floor with a broken elevator, which we didn’t find out about until check-in. I specifically told them I have back problems and can’t be running up and down stairs, and they basically shrugged their shoulders — “nothing we can do.” When we finally got to the room, it was dirty, molded, and smelled horrible. It was so bad that we couldn’t even relax. They couldn’t move us the first night, so we literally had to sleep in that smell. I woke up the next morning not feeling well at all, and only then did they manage to move us to a different room. For a place that calls itself a hotel, this was unacceptable. Poor customer service, unsafe conditions, and disgusting rooms. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else.

Told at check in we owe a $45 resort fee and an hour later I asked if the hotel has a pool and the front desk person seriously said to me “no we have the ocean what are we a resort”. Maybe it’s training or maybe you need to make it more clear that a resort fee is owed, but the beacon is definitely not a resort. I thought that it was fine. Basic value hotel that kind of presented itself as something above that. But like I said, it was fine, but they should not be charging a resort fee.

Our room was fine though a little outdated. The elevator was not working. However, a kind employee helped us with our bags. We asked about securing tickets for the Hop On/ Hop Off Bus. They set us up with a local service that was horrible (Miami Tours). The onsite restaurant was very good.
