This hotel was perfect! Cleanliness was unmatched. The front desk staff we encountered all spoke English well and were very kind and helpful. We chose the room with the queen bed and the room itself was quite spacious with a gorgeous view facing Dotonbori. I will note that there are two sets of elevators you’ll have to catch —one from the ground level to the 22nd where the reception is and another to the rooms. We never had to wait long for a lift since I think there were at least 4 elevators but it couldve been a slow season. The hotel is situated in a fairly quiet area and even with the expressway below our room, the nights were quiet. A big bonus was the hotel was not overly heated! In our past visits to other areas in Japan in colder months, the rooms would be uncomfortably hot but that was not the case here. We visited in mid January. Location was great for our needs. It’s literally across the street from the OCAT bus terminal, which was very convenient since our transport to/from airport was through Airport Limo Bus. There’s a Family Mart on the basement level (closed Sundays) but in the same bldg is a full size grocery store, mini natural food shop, cosmetics shop, a huge DCM home goods shop and a CanDo 100Y shop. 10 min walk to Dotonbori, 15 min walk to Koromon Market and 20 min walk to Shinsekai. Namba Stn and Namba Walk is right underneath and it was a 20 min cab ride to Shin Osaka and Osaka Stn. If in Namba, we would stay again!

The property overall exceeded our expectation. The breakfast service/selections was great and had a wide variety of food. Overall staff friendliness and service was outstanding. Will definitely consider staying here again in the future and highly recommend to anyone who wants to be near the bustling Dotonbori area!

Came early around 11am, wasnt able to check in early unless i paid ¥2000 per hour. The last hotel i stayed at let me check in early at that time. Anyways at least they held my bags until check in at 3pm. Entering hotel is akward, you have to take elevator to 22nd floor to reach the reception. Then take another elevator to the rooms. The place seems nice but outdated, its clean like any japanese hotel should be. The view was obstructed by pillars outside the window and a balcony like space (which you cannot enter). The location is central which is why i chose it. Theres this strange european/brittish motif throughout and a wedding chapel looking building inside, i think they should ditch that look and go for a contemporary modern osaka vibe, the breakfast was pricey at ¥4500 but it had nice views and a wide variety of food. Overall i probably would have paid a bit more for a nicer newer hotel elsewhere in osaka.

It is right above a metro/subway and big grocery stores. 15 minutes walk from Osaka train station. 30 minutes walk to Dotonbori. 45 minutes to Osaka castle. Friendly and helpful staff. Room size is big with high end bathroom products. Will stay here again.

This hotel was amazing! We absolutely loved our stay and it was the standard by which I measured all the other hotels on my trip throughout Japan. We stayed here for 5 nights. When we arrived, I was immediately welcomed by the staff and received my room expeditiously. The hotel itself is beautiful and very conveniently located above a major metro station, although I never heard any trains from my room while I was there. The room itself was very comfortable! We had 1.5 bathrooms and were on the top floor! I don’t remember which room option I booked but this one was very comfortable. It felt like a small apartment. The beds were comfortable, you have control of the thermostat, the bathrooms were great. The breakfast was excellent! We did 2 days at the breakfast buffet- one day had the steak, the other day didn’t so I’m not sure why, or if the steak was only a special thing for their New Years price (bc it was more expensive that day). But regardless, it was an excellent international breakfast in a beautiful ballroom both days and we thoroughly enjoyed it. So yeah! Truly, no complaints about this hotel, they are top tier and we really enjoyed the stay. Thank you hotel Grasmere Monterey!
