Casa Santa Sofia is very close to the Coliseum, about an 8-minute walk away. It has restaurants nearby, but I think the hotel is overpriced because it doesn't have a TV, and the bathroom, especially the shower, is extremely small, so you bump into everything with your arms. They don't warn you that the hotel is under construction, and you can hear the noise early in the morning. For $210 a night, you could find better options. Think twice before booking, as you won't get your money back.

This was my second stay at Casa Santa Sofia. Its staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable and the location is excellent with respect to walking to many locations, and is full of restaurants and interesting shops.

The location is absolutely perfect turn the corner and you’re greeted with a view of the Colosseum just a stone’s throw away. The Trevi Fountain and Pantheon are within a 15-minute walk, while the Vatican is about 25 minutes by car and Trastevere just 15 minutes. There are plenty of great little restaurants right out the front and all around the hotel. As a solo female traveller, I did notice some seedy people hanging out at the front on occasion, but they were largely harmless. The staff were very friendly and responsive, which made the stay more comfortable. If you’re looking for a hotel mainly as a place to sleep while exploring Rome, I highly recommend it. But if you want luxury or extra amenities, you may prefer elsewhere.

Everything was great, the front desk girls were great, Gabrielle was excellent. The only thing that was different was that there's no Tv in the room and the shower areas was very small. Other than that Everything was perfect..

A lovely option in Rome.

The hotel was booked last minute because of an Airbnb that wasn’t quite right. The staff were very helpful and let us keep our luggage there until check-in. The lobby is comfortable and nice to relax in while we waited. The water cooler was a very nice and welcome addition in the lobby. The rooms are basic yet clean and comfortable with a pretty spacious bathroom. Breakfast was tasty and enjoyable with a nice selection. My one small note for improvement is that the lamps in the room have cool lightbulbs instead of warm and so the light reminded me more of a hospital than a hotel. No other issues beyond that and I’d definitely stay again.

The hotel has a lot going for it. It’s in a great location, just a short walk from the Colosseum and surrounded by tons of food and shopping options. The staff were really nice and the room was clean and comfortable. Having breakfast included in the package was also a nice touch and made mornings much easier. That said, a few things took away from the overall experience. There was no TV or fridge in the room, and the rooftop bar which was one of the features that drew me in was closed during my stay with no notice. Even the TV in the common area didn’t work, so there weren’t many options for relaxing onsite. If you’re mainly looking for a convenient, clean place to sleep in a central location, it does the job. But if amenities and advertised features are important to you, it may fall short.
