Great stay in a historic hotel that’s not just a hotel but a time capsule to the historic nature of the Alamo Area as well as Theodore Roosevelt’s Rough Riders along with other events like the time Babe Ruth came with the NY Yankees.

The check in service was horrible. We got there, and the check in clerk was so dismissive, she barely looked at us, looked really uninterested in giving us directions and seemed like we weren’t really welcomed. I don’t know if it was my last name or how we looked or anything in that sorts. The hotel was amazing, a lot of history, at first it did give me a sense of unease, but after a while you get used to it. AC was great, clean and the valley service was great!

A slice of history

This is such an exquisite historic hotel. There are inconveniences of being a historic hotel such as minimal outlets and the rooms are not as much of a presentation as the main areas however there are so many fantastic things about the hotel. The convenience of being next to the river walk and Alamo was awesome. The staff and I mean all of the staff go above and beyond for guests. The atmosphere is so friendly and welcoming and everything is so clean and cared for. I loved my stay so much. I look forward to going there again soon. If there is anything that is disappointing it would be that the city allowed high rise hotels to suffocate the atmosphere and ambience of such a historic city

Older hotel, the room was smaller but the location was great for my purpose. There is a lot of construction in the area, but a hotel always gets major points with me when I arrive before check in time and the room is ready.

Quincy from the valet was 10/10. It is an older building so the ac struggles but i do not hold that against them. Very stylish and great bar with a 5$ beer option.

The food is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing, the pool and the people are amazing. The beds were kinda hard and there is no temp control in the rooms. It was pretty hot.

The atmospere and venue are awesome. The A/C was needs healing. Also water temp in shower had interesting swings from hot to cold, regardless i would gladly stay there again and would not discourage anyone from staying at the Menger!
