The staff was wonderful but the room is old and very very dirty. The light switches on wall and lamps are hard to find when you walk in a dark room. The couch was full of mysterious stains where you seat. The bathtub has a bad paint job, its is stained and dirty. The dust on wall next on the right of the bed (room501) could be drawn on. The comforter was stained and the pillows deflated. The carpet sticky and only two towels in the bathroom. This is where hotels.com put me after sending me to a sold out hotel. I was exhausted and stayed but if you like clean rooms I would no recommend. Breakfast was ok.

The hotel was good all around but I really appreciate how the manager Ayanna went above and beyond to help me when we got to the Auto Train station and realized we left something important in the room. Very grateful for the excellent service!

Some nasty staff

When we first got there, the man working was amazing. He was incredibly helpful, accommodating, sweet. He were there for a funeral, and he asked if we needed late checkout. We didn’t think so, so we said no thank you. The next morning, we realized we may need a little extra time. We came downstairs to find an older couple leaving with their bags. The woman working said to them “you know you guys can get late checkout and not leave til one, right? You don’t have to leave now!” They said that’s ok we are headed out. And it was our turn. We explained we were offered late check out last night and now realized we may need it and she said “sorry, nope. Too late now” very rudely. After we just heard her telling the couple leaving that they don’t have to if they don’t want to. Then my parents asked her for an extra chair for their room for medical reasons and she rudely snapped “WHAT FOR” which is not right at all. If the other man worked the whole time we would have had a pleasant stay. But I’m not sure why that woman felt the need to be nasty and treat us like we weren’t important enough.

Excellent stay with a couple blips

Clean room, excellent view, comfortable beds, good breakfast, polite staff! Only had 2 blips in the stay. One was the pillows were way too soft, had to roll two together to be like a regular pillow. Second was over the course of the night our key card lock ran out of batteries and we didn’t realize it until we walked out for breakfast around 6 am, saw it flashing red and couldn't stop it closing in time so we were locked out of our room. Unfortunately the night clerk still on duty didn’t know how to fix it. He tried his best and I'm not knocking him at all but it took an hour and fifteen minutes before we got back in. Mind you we were in pajamas because we were just going to run down quick and back up. More training on that situation is needed! Thankfully the day clerk came in and knew what to do. Throughout though staff was polite and informative. Would stay again and recommend.

Close to all in Sanford

Check in was smooth and fast. Front desk gentlemen was super helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Breakfast was good. Room was good, only complaint bed was too soft and had sunken crators which I resolved by putting couch cushions underneath mattress. Location is great easy drive to Downtown Sanford and minutes from Auto Train. Would stay here next time.
