Our stay at Monte Carlo Inn & Suites Downtown Markham was very disappointing. On the first night, a false fire alarm caused by a sprinkler issue forced all guests to evacuate the building and wait for about an hour before being allowed back inside. The next day, there were repeated fire alarm tests, and during the night there was continuous alarm beeping, which made it impossible to sleep. We booked this hotel expecting a safe and restful stay, but instead experienced constant disruption. When we raised the issue, the hotel refused any refund or compensation, stating it was a safety precaution. Overall, this was not a comfortable or restful experience, and I would not stay here again

The room was clean but the carpets are old and need replacing! Continental breakfast is included but eggs, bacon, hash browns or sausage cost extra and can be ordered. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The EV chargers are a welcome addition. This hotel is recommended
