A great value a very short walk to the shops and restaurants of Georgetown. Clean, spacious, comfortable rooms, friendly service, safe area. Not luxury but still nice. Downsides - Rooms not cleaned daily, no towel bars in the bath area, small baths, and the rooms could have more lighting. But for my purposes attending a weekend of events in Georgetown, the convenience and significant price differential from hotels a few blocks away in Georgetown was well worth not having a towel bar.

Something missing

On a scale of one to 10 I would rate my stay as a solid 6.5 to 7. I have stayed at the Melrose before, and it has always been a delight. Something was missing this last trip and I’m not sure quite what it was. I know a lot of hotels that offer valet parking are moving to the application. I do not enjoy this app for just to use the hotel however they made it accommodating and I was able to work it out. I don’t know that I will be staying at the Melrose anytime in the near future But my stay as I said was a good 6 1/2 to 7 on a scale of one to 10. The staff was very, very helpful at all times.

Needs some tlc

For an upscale hotel, there was a lot wrong with our room. The HVAC system didn’t work properly, the shower head was popping out of the wall, the sink was clogged,there was a blood stain on the top sheet (!), the smoke detector was coming off the wall and the bedroom door wouldn’t shut.
