Nice, but avoid on the weekends.

Room was nice with a pleasant view. The grounds are nice, The people at the front desk were very nice while they were there, the problem is there is no staff present from I believe 10pm to 7am. One of the things I noticed when we first stepped out on the balcony is that the balcony is shared with an adjacent room with no divider of any sort. First thing that popped into my head is that you better make sure the slider is locked or your neighbor could walk right in. While we didn't experience that, we did have a drunk neighbor knock on our slider. I didn't feel like getting up so we ignored it hoping it wouldn't happen again. They did do it again about 30minutes later so I called the front desk only to be forwarded to a voicemail box that was full. Over the course of the night the people above us also made a loud drunken entrance, presumably one of them crashing to the floor, based on the room shaking bang. So based on that experience with no staff on hand to deal with obnoxious guests, I would not stay here again on a weekend, certainly not during the summer. Midweek when there is less chance of drunken idiots I would definitely consider this place for future visits.

We loved our stay at the Ogunquit River Inn. When we made the reservation we were unaware that there were a steep set of stairs to get to our room. we were mobile but it might have been difficult if we weren't. if it wasn't for this inconvenience, we were very happy there

The only thing that was not up to standard was the cleanliness of the room. I took some photos and was going to share them with the front desk but we never had the chance. There was spiders in corners near the bathroom area. When we first arrived there was bugs that had fallen out of spider web and spider poop. I cleaned it up. There was hair on bathroom floor and on the duvet. It was also quite dusty on mirror next to TV, outlets, ice bucket.

Great location to shops and restaurants! As others have stated, disregard the exterior as it’s a little dated; however, our room was new, updated and very nice! Most comfortable bed and pillows ever! We also had a great view of the river. We didn’t eat breakfast but they had complimentary coffee and a large assortment of teas. The pool looked great, too! Would stay again and definitely recommend!!

Room was absolutely spotless. Bed extremely comfortable. Staff at check-in were extremely friendly. We selected a room with river view and balcony. The only draw back was the balconies are "shared" with your neighboring rooms which we found rather odd. Not sure why the property didn't build privacy walls as there was certainly plenty of room to do so.

Good but amenities lacking

Some rooms were nice with a lovely view of the river, but others marketed as 'view' were a stretch. There were several drawbacks starting with the hotel’s layout, with separate buildings and steep stairs, which could be challenging for older guests or those with disabilities, and assistance with luggage was only offered to my 80-year-old father when asked. We were greeted with a non-alcoholic Kool-Aid welcome drink, which felt underwhelming. A shuttle to the beach would have been a great amenity, especially given the short distance and lack of parking there. Additionally, the smoking policy wasn't enforced, impacting the experience. For the high price during peak season, I expected better service; the front desk wasn’t open all hours, and there was no complimentary breakfast. Overall, while there were enjoyable aspects, there's notable room for improvement in service and amenities.

This was our first time staying at this inn and it was a great experience. We were on the 2nd floor and had a view of the estuary from our balcony. Our stay was peaceful and very quiet. One star knocked off of cleanliness due to scuff like marks/stain on the fitted sheet. It was clean, but the marks made it feel less so. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The person working at the front desk was so kind and helpful! We can’t wait to come back.
