This is a 3 star hotel - not a 5 star - so expectations should be realistic. The staff were great. My room was ideal , had a very clean new bathroom. Bedding was clean etc. breakfast was real value for money. For the price I paid we were very very pleased and expectations were exceeded.

Old and dated and dirty. Cobwebs on bedroom roof and hair in bathtub and stains on bedsheets. Also mattress was so lumpy and uncomfortable. Food mediocre at best. Luckily location was good. Staff clearly not happy to be there. Wouldn't go back.

Overall my stay was fine. I knew for this price facilities would be basic and tired, but I would still expect it to be spotless. However, there was dust, soap scum around shower base etc. The walls are very thin, so conversations and television sounds can easily be heard from other rooms. Floorboards are also quite creaky. Great location for nearby walks and plenty of free parking.

Beautiful old hotel

Beautiful view in a lovely old hotel that has been well maintained. Walls are thin, so you will hear your neighbors. Also the mattress was not comfortable. I could feel the springs digging into my back. But overall, it was a nice place especially for the price.

Lovely warm & friendly hotel

Great hotel with really friendly staff who went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I stopped night before walking into the Arrochar Alps where I camped and then returned to the hotel where I’d left my car. Had a bar meal the night which was really tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this hotel especially the friendly staff - thanks Jamie 👍
