Room was smaller than I thought it would be, basic but clean and bed was comfy the curtains were very thin Heater in room was needed as no carpet (varnished floorboards, trendy but cold on feet) Shared bathroom was cold and although the window glass is frosted, felt a little exposed when showering.

I liked the convenient location and the easy on site parking. Staff friendly and helpful. The room heating was inadequate with a plug-in free standing heater not enough to provide a comfortable room temperature. No hairdryer was disapointing.

Perfect for a solo trip

Clean room and nice location. Lower end of boutique, not as nice as it looked in photos but it was all good for a solo trip, I’d book something else if I was going with friends or a partner.

Nice rooms - kind of colonial era style. I imagine it may get cold in the winter but I had no issues with the oil heater and electric blankets keeping me toasty. Lots of lovely eateries nearby! The internet was the only let-down... Slow enough that you can't even stream movies.

This hotel is an old Victorian style house with many rooms. We stayed there for 3 weeks while visiting family in Auckland, and it was an absolute pleasure. Our room was clean and tidy, everything worked as it should, and it was very comfortable. The owner, Kate is a lovely lady and welcomed us upon our arrival. She let us chose the room we wanted to stay in, and was very friendly. The area is beautiful, and has many restaurants, bakeries and cafes within easy walking distance. One of the best things is free parking on the property. If you know Auckland well, you'll know that parking everywhere is expensive, even on the street and while shopping. This was a great positive for us. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Auckland.

The photos online look nothing like the room we got, there was mold on the ceiling and in the shower, the gardens we had to walk past around the back of the building to our "suite" were full of weeds. Everything is rundown and not at all inviting. Also there are people living there permanently which is never a good sign.

Colonial

Loved the building - colonial style house. Very quiet off the street. Room was huge with lots of windows. Beautiful flooring. Wifi was slow. Staff don’t start until 9:30 am, but very helpful.
