Zwei Nächte incl Frühstück hatten wir - Zimmer waren nicht zu lüften - nur eine uralte Klimaanlage - Zimmer wurden nicht gereinigt und keine Betten gemacht - am 2. Abend mussten wir um zusätzliche frische Handtücher fragen - beim Frühstück!?!? gab es keine Butter: auf Nachfrage: its out! Morgens um 8 Uhr - es gab nur Plastikgeschirr, zu Essen an schmutzigen Tischen und selbst in riesige Mülltonnen zu entsorgen - der Teppichboden im Zimmer lebt! Restlos desinterressierte Mitarbeiter! Unser Fazit zu diesem Hotel auf unserer Südstaaten Rundreise: Never again!!!!!! Zwischen Preis und Leistung klaffen Welten - kein Verständnis für die Empfehlung!!!!!

Good Value for the Location

We found our stay at the Comfort Inn a “pros and cons” experience. Pros: Spacious comfortable rooms (loved the King size suite with the separate sitting area and pull out couch) with frig and microwave; There was a wide variety of options for breakfast including eggs, meat, biscuits& gravy, grits, cereals, baked goods and made to order waffles.; Good location with short drive (10min) to downtown charelston; Good price for the area; Comfortable bed (pillows need work— see below.) Cons: Room smelled very musty. Probably AC filters need replacement or rug replaced. This is very noticeable. If you have allergy sensitivities I would avoid this room.; There was a bright red message light on the phone that could not be turned off. We called to have it turned off after trying ourselves and were told we should put a sticky note over it. This needs a permanent correction as it is disruptive to sleep.; Bed had only overstuffed lumpy pillows. It would be good to have some thinner options for back sleepers.

Wonderful Stay with Great Breakfast

We were visiting the area for a few days and the Comfort Inn was perfectly located for our activities. We were able to walk to Patriots Point to take our boat to Fort Sumter. It was a 20-minute ride to Sullivan's Island to go to Fort Moultrie. If you're a beach person, Sullivan's Island has beautiful beaches, but we were also not far from Folly Beach. Of course, we also were only 10 minutes from downtown Charleston, which was wonderful. The hotel also is near many restaurants and this fun amusement business, MIX, with duckpin bowling, an arcade, and they have karaoke on Thursday nights. The room was large and had good amenities like a fridge and a microwave. I wish they offered bodywash, but they had lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. The breakfast was great with many hot and cold options. Our favorite part of our stay was the sweet lady taking care of the breakfast area!

Almost perfect

The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the fridge actually worked. Shower was hot and had good pressure, which we loved. Location was right between Sullivan's Island and downtown Charlestown, and just down the road from Shems Creek so in that way it was perfect, (Beware the quick turn into the lot after the 2 entrances to the gas station and the somewhat blind left turn out of the parking lot). Loved that they had plug-ins on the lights on the nightstands to charge phones right by bedside, even if the wifi was a bit weak at times (to be fair wifi is free). The negatives came from the bathroom where the toilet wobbled a bit and the faucet was loose enough that you needed both hands to turn it on so that the spout remained over the sink and didn't turn with the handle. We did mention it to the front desk at checkout so they could get it fixed before the next guest arrived, but for how loose the faucet was, we were surprised cleaning staff hadn't mentioned it to maintenance already. I would stay again, but my partner would not.
