Nice property & excellent staff. The views of the river are special. Comfy beds, A/C worked, bathroom had both a shower and a tub. Room had a safe and a small fridge. Hotel was clean throughout. Very quiet in spite of the fire dept. around the corner. Enjoyed our stay & extended a night.
Great location for accessing the city. Walk east to the lake or Navy Pier in minutes, south to Grant Park/Millennium Park, west to downtown or north to shopping.
One minor thing is, coming from Europe, I'm used to the showers having a shower head and a hose with another shower head. Although I saw this in the pictures online, our room only had a shower head.
Another issue: is there's extra $25 (plus tax) charge for Urban Experience Fee. For this $25, you get a $15 credit at the lounge, plus a credit for dry cleaning & a shoe shine. Went to the bar & got a beer ($12). Also a lemonade & water from the concessions. Those three items came to $36! You can't opt out of the fee. You have to pay the $25. Use it or lose it. Anything over that $15 bar credit is yours to pay. So, get a drink at the bar, and lose the other $10. Go around the corner to the CVS and buy any other drinks you might want in your room.
Parking is available for about $88/night. Do yourself a favor. Go online, access a parking app, & park at the Lakeside Garage (north end of the Grant Park underground parking garage). Park for there for about $22/night. 5 min. walk to the hotel and tons of parking.
