Our stay was fantastic! The condo was exactly as described — spacious, clean, and with a beautiful balcony view. The huge lagoon pool was a highlight for our family, and the resort amenities made everything so convenient. Check-in was smooth, and communication with the host was excellent. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Room was ever nice and clean. Pool area is awesome and the workout area was decent, Food there was good and fairly priced. It was very close to all the local attractions. The only thing we had a problem with was with some of the disrespectful guests obviously out of the resorts control but they do have 24/7 security. We will definitely stay again when visiting

Spring break at the Palms of Destin

The facility was nice. Great coffee shop and restaurant. Great pool area. Awesome shuttle service, would like to see more stops added. Easy to use tennis, pickleball and basketball courts and nice equipment. The size of the unit was perfect for me, my husband and our two 14 year old boys, but we would have been uncomfortable if we would have had any more. The bedroom with the trundle beds was very small, there was enough space to pull out the bed and walk to the bathroom. It would not have been comfortable for adults in my opinion. I would recommend this property. The pool area was also very nice.

Family Memories Made Here!

Our family spent our summer vacation here and will never forget our incredible time at the beach. Our son (5)spent countless hours perfecting his swimming skills in 3 beautiful pools (one heated, one kiddie, and one picturesque lagoon complete with stone waterfalls and bridges). We enjoyed beach days at the easily accessible public and private locations nearby (there is a convenient shuttle for beach drop-off). When we weren't at the pool or beach, we enjoyed the onsite playground, tennis and basketball courts and dining at nearby family-friendly local seafood restaurants. Despite all the fun had by day, perhaps our favorite moments were spent on the balcony enjoying a glass of wine and an al fresco meal at the outdoor dining table with the expansive Destin sunset as our backdrop. Inside the well-appointed unit was an updated, comfortable, and aesthetic décor scheme.

Important maintenance is needed!

We really enjoyed the Palms of Destin. This condo unit was what we were looking for. However, it needs some important maintenance. The door would not close and lock properly without us checking it every time. This was not safe! The walk-in shower door didn't shut properly. The kitchen faucet was broken. There were several other minor things as well. We didn't let all of this ruin our vacation, but it did diminish the enjoyment of our stay.

Recent stay

The only issue we really had was with the kitchen appliances. The microwave seemed to overheat constantly and not heat the food. Even if you only selected for a minute. You would have to do 30 second increments and even with that it would overheat and not heat your food thoroughly. There was also a broken shelf in the refrigerator. Lastly, I didn’t realize when booking that this was not on the beach. You had to cross a very busy road and then walk about a half mile after to get to the beach. Also because it is not on the beach, with the new Fl law, there is only a small segment of beach access you are allowed to utilize.

Perfectly good condo but not good for multiple families

Our family of three went with another family of three. The condo itself is fine. The kitchen could use a few more utensils in my opinion but to each his own. The second bedroom is extremely small. The other family planned to have their daughter sleep in the top bunk, close the bottom bed and sleep on an air mattress. The room was too small to accomplish this. They had to sleep in the living room, leaving the bedroom to their child. The master bedroom was a good size. No complaints there. However, know that you have to go into the bedrooms to reach the bathrooms. This is not a problem for families whose kids don't nap. But if you have small children and plan for them to nap in the bedroom, you will go in the room to use the bathroom. Other than those two critiques, the condo was fine. The pool is beautiful and it is a super short drive to the beach. We enjoyed our stay but likely will not return to this condo unless we are going with just our immediate family.

The room itself was fine. It was well appointed. The Condo Management (not owners) could be better.

The room listing was very accurate, and the room overall was very nice. It was well appointed with typical beach type decor. The Palms Condo Management has wrist bands allowing you to use the amenities. These are $75 each if lost. At least we were advised of this when we checked in. I have older kids so it was no big deal, but if you have younger kids, these could easily be lost. Also, the room key is $5 each if not turned in. That is ridiculous. Those little plastic cards cost nothing to replace. Check out is by 10 am on the date of your departure; however, the front desk did not open until 8 am. I tried to check out before 8 am and had to wait. If you want to act like a resort, then man the front desk 24/7. The pool area needs significantly better lighting at night. My family enjoys playing tennis. The two tennis courts are in serious disrepair. They desperately need to be resurfaced. Also, only five of 12 lights were operational for playing at night. Of course, night time in the summer in Destin is an ideal time to play, but not at the Palms with less than 50% lighting available. One good thing is the raised parking offers shade. This does help keep your vehicle cool in the hot summer sun. I am not certain I will ever stay at the Palms again, but again, not because of the room itself. This is due to what I see as management missing obvious flaws.

Get what you pay for

Overall it was a great stay! It’s unfortunate that there were no extra things-cooking oil, coffee filters, salt/pepper. But it was nice there was a restaurant and coffee house in the main building. We did find a previous persons shorts and toy shark, so the cleaning could have been a tad better but overall I’d recommend this condo to another person. Location is also very nice too. Beach is a short walk and there are a ton of restaurants a short car distance away.

The pool area was great for kids and the bar was great for adults. The room itself was outdated. The kitchen needs an upgrade and the press and pans are all warped making cooking difficult The shower head in the master bedroom tried to peel our skin off while the toilet took forever to flush and the sink was backed up. These were minor issues so we would definitely stay here again if we needed to.

Was not what I expected

To start my family and I visit FL every year and we’ve never been disappointed until now. Not only was it more expensive than anywhere else we’ve rented, it’s not as it seems in the advertisement. First, the location… it’s not just a walk across the little walk way to the beach. It’s actually a walk down the street and across the hwy. The pools they have here are cool but it’s not all of what they say it is. It’s actually really basic. Secondly, the whole building smells like wet animals. Now as of the condo/apartment itself….2608 is a complete joke. Walked in and it’s hot as hell. The a/c doesn’t cool below 73 degrees. I look around there’s think layers of dust everywhere. So as always, we pull out the Clorox wipes and wipe down. The carpet is disgusting. The faucet in the kitchen… trash. It leaks and only allows you to turn on hot water. The ice maker… also trash and there’s a broken door shelf in the fridge. I sat something on top of the little refrigerator and when I took it down a lot of dust came with it…..disgusting! We were looking for a can opener to cook..LOL it’s broken… all three of them. We tried to heat something in the microwave…. It’s also broken. It runs but doesn’t heat. I emailed them about it. She emailed back saying someone would be over shortly to take care of it… they never showed. Oh and the garbage disposal smells horrible. The shower door in the bathroom doesn’t close and the toilet paper holder was broken. We were trying the vacuum the floor and of course…. The vacuum doesn’t do anything but leave lines in the carpet as if it was freshly vacuumed. Lastly, apparently they have rats also because there was one that was still alive but dying on the walkway by the entrance door. We were not satisfied with or stay. Next year my family and I will not be booking here again. If you’re planning on booking this location… think again. There’s much better places on the other side of the hwy that’s actually worth it.
