Checking in was pretty seamless. They have shuttle service to pick you up from the airport which was pretty nice. Lio airport is 5 mins of a driving distance from Charlie’s. One thing to note, the property is about a 30-min walk to the beach. It’s not conveniently located on the beach. You have to consider humidity also. I didn’t see a lot of tourists walk to the beach. Most people use e-bikes and/or a tricycle/tuctuc.
Amenities: the photos show an option to get a private pool in your room but really all they have is a private access to the pool for some rooms. The rooms are spacious but the AC doesn’t cool it off on a hot day.
Service: was outstanding. If anything about this place, their excellent service balances out the other things that can be better, such as the food.
Breakfast Buffet: was okay. I think they recycle food at times. I would rate the breakfast buffet a 4/10 as compared to food in hotels in Manila. They do the best they can. I’m also not sure how fresh the food is because we both got diarrhea towards the last 2 days of our stay and kinda ruined the rest of our trip.
Bar: they have a 10/10 frozen Calamansi Margarita by Reven the bar tender.
Gym: there’s a gym with limited upper body equipment and free weights. There’s also a yoga room.
Jay-R from the front desk was very helpful and always went above and beyond.
