1. Rooms -- Our room faced the Jalan Alor Food Street but it was surprisingly very quiet. Soundproofing must be good. We were however not impressed with the poor room state when we arrived at night – the kettle and glass water jug still had water in them from the previous guest, the soap bottle was empty, and the shower wasn't properly cleaned. The shower flooded after 1 use and we had to soak our feet in dirty water from the drains. I would expect better from the Accor brand. We had to wait until the next day for the drain to be cleaned which wasn't ideal. After we submitted the complaint to the front desk, the issues were addressed the following day which put us more at ease.
2. Location -- Location is good and bad – the hotel is on the same street as Jalan Alor Food Street, which makes it almost impossible for taxis to drop us off right at the front of the property. Even walking back to the hotel in the evening can be a mission with food stall shopkeepers calling out and trying to get you into their restaurants. It's good in that you have quick access to a lot of food options but bad in that hotel accessibility is compromised for both cars and walking on foot.
3. Food/drinks -- Filtered water station is available on the room floor.
4. Hotel amenities -- I was also shocked that Ibis doesn't provide a hair dryer for each room – we were told we would need to borrow one and return it to the front desk after each use as they had a limited number available.
