This place was an absolute gem just outside of La Fortuna. The grounds were bigger and more beautiful than we expected based on the photos. The staff were attentive and so lovely to chat with (thank you so much Jose and Fernanda for making our stay so special). The eight thermal pools were lovely for an afternoon dip, and we loved that we could sit at the swim up bar or be in the covered hot tub when the afternoon rains came. Our room was spacious and the wife loved the hammock and the jacuzzi. Thank you to the housekeeping staff for restocking our coffee, providing meringues, and making fun little towel animals each day. WiFi worked well, parking was easy, and we loved opening the screen door and listening to the rain each afternoon.
Our absolute favorite part of the resort was the sloths. We saw them twice near the front office and got lucky to catch one crossing the road just before we left which was such an amazing end to our trip! The only negative about this resort is the prices in the bar and restaurant. The dinner quality is okay, but we had much better quality dishes in town. Drinks are very spendy so we didn’t spend as much time at the resort or by the pool as we thought we would give how expensive they were. We really wanted to like La Saca, but having two meals there with very dry chicken, we were a little disappointed. However the staff at the restaurant were amazing!
We will absolutely return to the property on our next visit to La Fortuna!
