It’s stunning geography- off the beaten path with outdoorsy trails and facilities. Lodging however is very dated but quaint. Restaurant is is decent and help is upbeat and friendly for the most part. You go for the property not the facilities unless a conference which it is obviously built to accommodate. Probably would try another place next time since there is several on the Blue Ridge area just to see. Price is reasonable for the property

Need to upgrade mattresses. Pull old rusty heaters out of bathroom. Allow windows to open to allow fresh mountain air to come in. Food in dining room was delicious and worth the price. Gift shop way over priced.

Very happy with my stay. Several electrical outlets in the room did not work. The lamp between the beds did not work because of this. No bedtime reading. Otherwise it was lovely.

Great Location

We had a great stay for the night. The location was perfect for our day hikes and visit to Luray Caverns. The restaurant and taproom had great food and everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be staying here again!

In the middle of the National Park- beautiful! Some simple sandwiches for breakfast (more EU style) would be a good addition

Skyland is quiet and clean however it doesn't have great amenities. Our room didn't have A/C which is a basic amenity everywhere else. Also our room didn't have a fridge or a microwave. Unfortunately I didn't realize this until we got there because I failed to read the the description before booking. I assumed everyone offers these basic things.

Very clean, older park hotel. Friendly for a small family. Like most other hotels not big family friendly for rooms. No roll aways available for family of 5. Overall location was a huge plus to be able to stay inside park and not drive a half hour back and forth.

Rustic Park Setting

We loved this place. It was rustic and what we really like in a forest setting. Would've liked a secluded cabin better, but this place had great views and worked just great. No complainfs!

The room was clean, updated and had nice amenities. Plenty of charging ports/outlets. The staff was friendly. Only minor complaint, could not see any view from balcony because trees had grown too high at our room.

Beautiful views, good food, needs uodating

I love Skyland lodge, the people are great, but the rooms need updating. The shower valves didn’t work very well, Internet is poor. But I love the rooms with the balcony looking over the valley. The atmosphere in the lodge is calm and peaceful, and the food is excellent in the dining room.

Love the lodging style; part hotel, part cabin, distributed throughout the property & aligned to take advantage of its physical contours. Sit on balconies anytime of day or night and watch nature safely - deer, birds, bunnies, bears, raccoons, and so forth - from your elevated perch/porch. Hike through verdant greenery, breathe the fragrance of wildflowers you’ll never smell anywhere else. Retire to rest in recently renovated accommodations with handicapped accessible restrooms, paved paths, and wide doorways. Dining is decent, offering at least one of every type protein - animal, vegetable, and fish - locally sourced vegetables for salads and sides, and a host of locally sourced sauces and seasonings. Desserts are outstanding and include gluten-free and lactose free palate-cleansers. Virginia wines and beers abound, and they’re all tasty! This facility provided the perfect spot for me to celebrate my 71st birthday in comfort away from the intense heat elsewhere in the state. Only a couple things I missed here were comfortable chairs in our room and non-availability of VA Bison on the menu. Add them to our stay and we’d be permanent residents! BTW, zero internet and cell phone service in our room and much of the property is actually an attraction here, not a detraction! Being off-grid is really pleasant!
