My son lives in the East Village and I visit him several times a year. After trying spots all over the city, I found the HI and now it's my spot. Nothing bad to say. Easy access to wherever you want to go and a Target just a 5 minute walk away. No brainer for me!

Older hotel, but clean and comfortable. Found a great rate on Expedia. Clean room goes a long long way. Didn’t spend much time in the room because it’s NYC. Can’t say enough about how friendly the front desk staff was our entire trip. Great people.

Room was clean but really small, lobby is nice they provide cold fruit infused water up front. The breakfast that was included was ok seems to come from the restaurant attached to it. It was delivered through room service which was nice but I wouldn't pay for it again. Check in was easy but front desk staff is not the nicest. Be sure to double check the security deposit that's held from your account, I was charged 2 different amounts for a two night stay and they told me "the system does that sometimes". Unacceptable. I was charged almost 3 times the amount i signed for. Location is convenient about a block or two from a train station, lots of food options around. Hard to find with all the construction outside and the address listed seems to be wrong. Probably won't stay here again.

They cancelled our booking when we were travelling to the hotel leaving us with sleeping children and no room after 10 hours travelling. We had to find another hotel on a Saturday night, 6 of us. Absolutely disgusting
