When you arrive and check in they expect you to listen to a representative about setting up a tour. They are very persistent even if you tell them that you are tired from the trip. Most of the staff are polite and friendly. The rooms and outside have a sewer smell.

Hotel is very nice yet not overwhelming. Multiple small buildings reduces the number of neighbors near by. One was a loud child, but not bad. Nice pools on way to beach. I liked the natural style and jungle garden. Room had a hair dryer and fridge.

This was a cute little resort. The beds are as hard as a rock though. Probably my biggest complaint. Second conplaint is compared to other resorts we have stayed at their food selections aren’t the best. We were unimpressed with the buffet and the restaurants. However their late night taco bar is probably the best food they had if you can wait that long to eat. The pool was nice, the rooms were nice. We didnt visit the beach, at this time there was a lot of seaweed but i know that can be seasonal.

The resort is not too overwhelming which I liked. All the staff were extremely friendly and super helpful. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and is in a very convenient spot if you want to walk into town. I would definitely recommend to others and would love to stay again! I definitely recommend the Italian restaurant on site, 10/10.

The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The restaurant personnel were very concerned and knowledgeable about food allergies. The jungle atmosphere in the middle of the property is beautiful with waterfalls and the tiger wood walkways were a treat. Down to earth and family friendly with the nicest staff one could ask for!

It was a very friendly environment but was not expressed by having to talk to too many people about the activities i signed up for plus never got my gift from the spa i did and signed papers for it took me 3-4 times to tell the front desk or people in charge to get it for me as well upon arriving same thing i requested chocolate strawberry platter and a bottle of prosecco the strawberry plater looked nothing lije the picture when i added it on to my stay plan for a welcome arrival and the activities i wasnt expressed with the staff at the coco beach club there was no staff around but the manager was helpful in getting everything i asked for so will not be staying at the reef playacar in future but all the food was good drinks were good snack bar was awful overall friendly staff and the restaurants and their staff were welcoming and very hospitable. My stay was okay but definitely could improve more on requests for guests and this goes for the reef coco beach club as well. Thank you for everything and happy mothers day

I would like to say that the staff was super friendly! It’s much nicer than the pictures, a very quaint clean smaller resort with an intimate feel! They provide carafes and two glasses that you can fill up with water. My only complaint is you had to upgrade to get a coffee pot in the room. Never had a problem, getting beach chairs, or a chair by the pool. Always food available. I believe all the rooms have a patio with a nice chair, chairs and a table. I really enjoyed listening to the birds and sitting out in nature! I must say that I had the best deep tissue massage I’ve ever had I wish I had the young ladies name. Rented some jet skis from behind the hotel, which was a blast! Always felt very safe sharpness within walking distance, either way out of the hotel. To the left is a smaller shopping center with outside restaurant into the right you can walk up into play Adele Carmen on fifth Avenue, which may take about 20 minutes.( I’m 54 and short lol) I totally would recommend this hotel for anybody specially if you’re looking for something budget friendly! Definitely would return♥️

First time at the reef and it didn’t disappoint. The resort is a 5/5, staff 4/5 (don’t try to take a coffee mug for a beach walk), food 3/5. Overall, highly recommend and we are already talking about coming back!

My family and I spent half the trip in the hospital. We were hospitalized due to a parasite present in either the food, pool water, or unhygienic surfaces (e.g., bathrooms). Upon our return to our home country, we remain ill and under close supervision by doctors due to the aggressiveness of the parasite. Upon informing the hotel, they remained unconcerned and failed to ensure we were (a) taken care of via room service despite promising such of their own volition, (b) compensating us for the horrors endured, (c) properly ensuring we reached the hospital when the illnesses started (security guards watched Instagram reels on full blast outside of our room as a visiting doctor examined us prior to urgently recommending hospitalization; we were falling over throwing up in bushes as the security guard ran fifteen steps in front of us, unconcerned whether we needed assistance and left my mother to carry us), and (d) attempted to get us to be quieter when complaining of the illness so newly arrived guests would not be in made aware of the horror. This was a complete waste of money, as we spent more time hospitalized than at the resort. Even so, they did not compensate us or refund us. They made a mockery of us and the resort smelled like feces- no wonder we were sick with a parasite contagious through fecal matter. Do not stay here, they couldn’t care less if they infect you with a near deadly parasite.

Here are the likes:loved the beach , spacious, soft white sand, blue water very little sargass grass, pretty much none until the last day when it was windy , lounge chairs options were through out the property, we saved seats before we ate breakfast and never had an issue, seemed to be enough for everyone, always felt like it wasn’t crowded, maybe it was the jungle /trees through out ? No lines for meals , activities were great, mostly Elena the activity director!! She was so spunky, great Zumba in the pool, she made mine and my daughters
