The short response to our stay at the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa is simply "Wonderful". The those wanting more detail: My wife and I stayed for 7 nights, half board, 11-18 October 2025, booked as a package through Expedia. The check-in process was professional and courteous, something common to every member of the hotel staff. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean (as was the whole hotel). New bottled water was refreshed every morning and evening, and a lovely touch was the nightly turn down service (who can say no to a chocolate on your bed!). The Hotel has two outside pools both with a bar serving food and hot and cold drinks. The real bonus is the spa which we had full use of, and paid for a 55 minute treatment which was well worth the extra payment. Each evening we ate in the main restaurant, either inside or out on the veranda with a view over St Julians Bay. The menu provided a wide choice and we were free to pick whatever took our fancy. The breakfast was served in the "marketplace" restaurant with an extensive range on offer to suit every possible taste, definitely spoilt for choice! All staff members were great, but Sandhu at breakfast did standout as "exceptional". All in all, we had a great holiday in Malta, and staying at the Marriott Resort & Spa played a large part in ensuring that was the case. Great staff, facilities, food and location.

Loved the location. Room had everything we needed. Staff were on hand and checked daily if we needed top up of any items. Great variety of food for breakfast. Our room had a sea view, loved waking up in the morning for a coffee and sit on balcony and watching the world go by. Very relaxing.

Pool View? I think not.

We had an excellent 5 day break at the Malta Marriott. The rooftop pool and the spa are really well appointed as was the bedroom and everything else. The staff were warm and very helpful. However, we booked a room with a pool view (balcony). Below is a photo from inside the room. The view was predominantly street/city view with apartments opposite in close view (both ways). The street extended to the right. To the left you can just about catch a glimpse a view of the Lido pool. The overall experience is of a street view. I brought this to the attention of the Reservations desk. They tried to change our room but could not because the Hotel was almost fully booked. I left it with them. After a couple of days I again brought them matter this time to the attention of the Customer Relations desk in the foyer. This time a room change was not appropriate as we had only one day of our stay left. I don't believe that this was an adequate response from a quality hotel. I would suggest that the management immediately reconsider the designation of room 738 as a Pool View.

We stayed here as a family (my husband, our baby, and I) and I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced. Despite having four rainy days in Malta, we didn’t mind spending most of our time at the hotel—it was that good. We had access to the M Lounge, which I highly recommend. It’s absolutely worth paying a little extra for. Throughout the day, there were refreshments including soft drinks, water, teas, coffee, muffins, fruit, and biscuits. From 17:00–19:00, a wonderful selection of small bites was served, such as delicious curries (chickpea, lentil, and even octopus on one evening), tarts, salads, charcuterie, fruit salads, and desserts. The staff were exceptional—always warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make every guest’s stay special. A special mention goes to Sanju, who greeted us so warmly every morning and even offered us porridge for our baby, despite it not being a menu item. A really thoughtful touch was when we arrived on my husband’s birthday. After checking in and going out for a few hours, we returned to find a card, dessert, and a bottle of prosecco waiting in our room. This was completely unexpected but such a lovely gesture that made our stay feel even more special. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with bottled water provided daily. The evening turndown service, complete with chocolates, was a lovely detail that made us feel truly looked after. The hotel even provided us with Childs Farm toiletries for the baby!

This is an excellent hotel. Everything is at the kind of quality you would expect for a 5* hotel - the breakfast was particularly good. However, it is the professionalism and friendliness of the staff that stood out for us - everyone seemed to go the extra mile to be helpful, considerate, welcoming, friendly and courteous. One of the best staffed hotels we've expereinced, and we travel a LOT!
