Beautiful hotel that's retained its yesteryear character. Staff are super friendly and helpful, we received a room upgrade which was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. Room was huge and well appointed. Beds and pillows were really comfortable. Huge bathroom Location is fantastic for Circular Quay access, plenty of shops and restaurants around. Highly recommended, would absolutely stay again

Positives are the charm of an old world ambience, proximity to tourist spots such as The Opera House, Circular Quay and the Botanic Gardens and harbour. Food is good, coffee excellent and staff friendly. Oir stateroom was well appointed, clean and had a good outlook. Only negative is the condition of furniture and furnishings-they are getting tired and could do with some tender loving care. If you love the position and don’t mind faded elegance this is a winner.

Awful property - extremely run down, rooms are so dirty/sticky and unhealthy with the dust that if you have asthma/dust allergy it’s a torture. This property is not luxury at all - need to be shut down and renovated. Avoid! There are better places to stay for that price.

Our room, 315, was amazing. We were extremely comfortable. The only thing which disappointed us is that the bar/restaurant closed too early for us (from UK) to have dinner in the hotel.

Very disappointing and run down

Our room was very large but in desperate need of renovation. There was no minibar and facilities were basic. Breakfast was also ordinary with a poor selection of food on offer. Apart from room size and location of the hotel it was very disappointing. Would not stay here again or recommend it.

Lovely stay

The location was ideal for us, since it was so close to the harbor. Our view from the room was picturesque and the service friendly. We were impressed by the steam cleaning of the bathroom and the cleanliness of the room.

The hotel has a lovely feel to it, great bar and the staff are pleasant. The room we stayed in was spacious, quiet and clean although the armchair in the room (205) should have been thrown out years ago. Also get frustrated with air-conditioning in a lot of hotels these days. Set for 18C but even after 2 nights stay had only dropped from 21C to 20.5C - very frustrating! The hotel is in a fantastic location expecially if (as we were) going to a concert at the Sydney Opera House. Plus major gardens across the road to explore
