Arrived at midday and charged $60 for early check in. I have travelled all around the world and never been charged this fee The hotel is old and furniture needs refurbishing. The balcony door didn’t lock and unable to shut the door to balcony for the whole 2 night stay. Very disappointed for the price Won’t be back

I like boutique style hotels: classic, elegant, convenient, central and scenic. The room was spacious. I walked to the Royal Botanical Garden. I wish I spent more time there.

A rundown era

Definitely a hotel at the end of its life. The whole site is getting demolished and sold off as more apartments, so you get the feeling the whole staff have already mentally 'checked out'. A hotel that's designed for the 80+ age bracket of guests, overpriced parking, and a "whisky" bar that closes by 8:30pm, even on weekends. A relic of another era that I'll be glad when gone.

One of the best in Sydney

One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Large room, marble bathroom, chandeliers, nice little french balcony. Steps away from the Opera House and many restaurants. Stayed for Vivid. Nice open fire at reception area. Nice old style hotel, reminded me of an English 5 star hotel.

Beautiful old style, very comfortable and lovely foyer/breakfast buffet, absolutely great staff. I was disheartened by the low standard of coffee in the room, sadly no Nespresso machine or decent instant. Also the noise of the road below is incessant. That said, great comfortable beds, amazing spacious room and good bathroom. I even had a sweet swim in the pool!

We celebrated our birthdays and wedding anniversary locally at Aria, this is a fantastic place to stay so close to the Opera House and Circular Quay… The breakfast could be value for money but it wasn’t great - the hot breakfast was cold and barista made coffee was extra on top of the $39 pp price.

Most hotel rooms in Sydney’s CBD are soulless and have no character. This whole place has such a lovely warm and homey character. It’s got a fireplace in the lobby, there’s chandeliers everywhere. There’s lounges in the lobby and bedroom. The room was huge. It’s really lovely.
